Please help - blackheads

For as long as I can remember every pore on my nose is a blackhead. I squeeze them and strings of firm gunk come out. They just refill again. The rest of my skin is in quite good condition and I double cleanse and moisturize every night. Religiously and have done since I was 16. Please someone tell me how to get rid of them Envy (not envy)

I've been using the ordinary niacinamide+zinc for about a week and mine (same as your description) have improved a bit. I also want to try salicylic acid which everyone raved about but is out of stock everywhere I've looked.

Following for tips also.

Thanks Duchess, I have the niamacide from the ordinary but I havent given it a proper go. Do you just put it on your affected areas or all over your face?

There was a thread about this earlier in the week. It sounds like you might have sebaceous filaments which are not the same thing as blackheads. Salicylic acid (beta hydroxy acid) seems to be the go to thing. The ordinary do a salicylic acid mask but think it’s only in stock direct from Deciem at the moment

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/04/2020 20:16

It’s a sebaceous filament not a black head, there’s a Paula’s choice product that’s meant to help, think it’s a bha product?

Don’t squeeze, no point and can scar.

Paulas Choice 2% BHA Liquid. Apply like a toner 2 - 3 times a week 👍

Ah fab, thank you so much. I knew you wise women would have an answer!

Thank you from me too.

I miss mine. They seemed to dry up in my early 40's Sad

Cosrx also have a good BHA product - Cosrx Blackhead Power Liquid.

The Ordinary Niacinamide makes some people's skin react at first. I found that diluting a couple of drops with an inert type of serum (i.e. one that doesn't have active ingredients) or cream works much better.

Paula's Choice 2% BHA. You will never squeeze a blackhead again.
