Curly girl styling products

Like loads of others, I'm using lockdown to try and make peace with my naturally curly hair. I've never tried the curly girl method, but I've found some sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. What products do you use to style, after you have washed your hair?

And am I right in thinking you basically just wash your hair, condition it, leave a bit of conditioner in, and then style your hair, but don't use heat. Last time I had my hair curly I used to wrap it in a t-shirt after washing it which did work.

Am I missing anything?

some swear by it but it causes endless frizz for me.

Plopping in a T shirt made my hair super frizzy too (yet i carried on doing it for months because i thought that was what i was 'supposed' to do - the most important advice is to listen to your unique hair!).

I found wet plopping worked much better for me. So when you've washed your hair and applied your curl products, while your hair is still wet it in a shower cap and wrap in a T shirt for 20 minutes before continuing. It has killed frizz stone dead.

For beginner curly girls I believe deep conditioning treatments are really important. My hair was so dried out and frazzled by using straighteners when I first started.

I used to have very curly hair 👩‍🦱.
I am trying to do the curly girl method, but my hair has become less curly instead of more curly!

Might be the bleach and the cut!

So I’m here to gain more insight😊
