Pregnancy Mask / Melasma

Hi, I developed Melasma during my last pregnancy 5 years ago.
Each Spring / Summer it becomes a lot darker especially on my forehead , upper lip.
I don't currently own any products to try and prevent / cure it and I'm after some product advice. I have had a looked on line for advice but it seems a lot are advertising. Price wise mid range but if it was a miracle product I would go higher.

Any hints / tips please? Thanks

Are you pregnant again, or it never went away? Did you use something before that helped?

I developed it during the pregnancy and then it never went away, but gets a lot darker during the warmer weather. I need to start using a sun block to try and stop it getting worse. Last year a few people did mention it so it is getting more visible.

Have you spoken to your Dr/beautician about it and see what they recommended?

Retinol from the ordinary or dermatica do a px one hydroquonone something or other. You must wear a high spf sunblock every single day though.

Th ordinary do a vit c powder you can mix into your sunblock, it helps pigmentation and is an antioxidant.

Thanks I have gone for The Ordinary retinol 0.5 and 1% as it said to build it up, the vit c powder, very surprised at how reasonably priced they were.

I also bought the Clinique city blocker for sun block as that had good reviews.

Think all this Skype and Zoom doesn't help as I now realise how bad my skin is close up! I'm normally very basic with skin care and just buy any moisturiser that has a SPF 15.

Thanks again!

Build up the vitamin c slowly, if it sting you’ve used too much.
