I’ve done something terrible to my hair

Before Christmas I bleached my hair and dyed it light pink. Looked great but the roots were a total nightmare and I have no interest in re bleaching my roots every fortnight to tidy it up. So I dyed my hair red thinking my (dark blonde) roots would blend better. Now, I dyed my hair red all the time in my youth, never had any problem dying over it once I got bored. However, never had I dyed my hair red over bleach before. I now can’t bloody get rid of it. Twice I have tried to dye over it and just coloured my roots. Now I have ginger roots and faded red lengths. I’m desperate to just cut it all super short and start again but I clearly can’t be trusted to do that myself! What are my options here other than a shit tonne of bleach? I’ve just ordered to dark pinky red La Riche directions as a last resort so it will at least be somewhat one colour until I can pay someone to fix it. I’ve seriously considered clippers.

Just leave it to grow out + let your hair rest for a while?? Do you go out to work or are you working from home ?

Colour b4 extra strength, buy twice box amount in case you need to do it twice.just then you dye it in an ash blonde or brown in semi permanent (boxes amount dependant on hair length)

Olaplex later, or some good masks. I love coconut oil.

Red is an absolute nightmare to get out as a colour. It's also not the nicest colour look when it starts to fade. If you really want to try and get as much as the colour out but don't want to use bleach or anything to strip it. Use washing up liquid, sounds daft I know but it works the same as a clarifying shampoo stripping away the remaining pigment that's left. It won't feel nice but it's a lot better for your hair and in no way damaging compared to bleaching it. Do that a couple times you then need to decide what colour your wanting to go whether that's back to your natural colour etc as putting anymore colour with red/ pink pigment on your hair is just creating colour build up making it a lot harder for another colour to cover of it. Either way if you choose to go a different colour you best bet is to neutralise there hair so that the next colour you choose actually covers properly
