Ideas for styling my naturally curly hair

I have shoulder-length wavy/curly hair that’s in need of a cut and it’s driving me mad. Please give me some inspiration on ways to style it! Somehow a ponytail only looks good on me if I’m exercising. I’d love to do some sort of half-up style to take the front bit off my face, but whenever I attempt it I look like a medieval maiden. Is there a trick to a curly half-up that looks a bit more funky? Or any other ideas you can suggest before I grab the scissors in despair?Grin

I've just trimmed round my face in a sort of fringe style which I like as I'm in desperate need of a haircut. I also look shite with anything other than ponytail or down!

I love the look of a fringe while the rest is up but my hair will never do it right. I think my hairline is too far back? Dunno.

I just grew it out. It's now down to my waist. I put it up occasionally in a side ponytail.

I have thick curly hair and I do lots of stuff with it but the style you are talking about is easy . You just scoop up the front bit into a pony and it sits at the back of your head . Look on Pinterest

I know what you mean Pootiepie about the medieval look. I sometimes plait a bit across the front of my head before I pull half back - seems to look a bit more modern.

A friend makes a small half pony and sort of pushes it forward so it looks almost like a little quiff. It looks lovely. I can't pull it off though, due to enormous forehead!
