Milia, stubborn little buggars

I unpacked a magnifying mirror that’s been sitting in the closet for a while. And OMG I’ve got milia around my eyes and down to my cheeks. Those little whitehead things. Had a look online, and it doesn’t look like I can extract them like, I would a blackhead.

Has anyone had any luck getting rid?

You could sterilise a sharp needle with surgical spirit, and pick them out. Put some cotton through the needle to make it easier to keep hold of, and twist that around your finger. If they're stubborn (or painful, because they're on the delicate skin around your eyes), just prick them a couple of times and then leave them until the next day - the pricking seems to dry them up and make them easier to get next time. You'll get them all if you keep at it for a few days - promise! (And no - I have never given myself an infection, made things worse or caused myself any damage by doing this.)

I once paid to have them removed, and I did have tiny pinpricks of blood over my face for a few days. So if you do it, stay home for a little while after ...

I prick mine out with a sterilised needle - I do only usually get one or two though, not sure about doing loads! It’s dead satisfying when they come out though - a little hard white ball!
