Growing back eyebrows

Anybody else doing this whilst in lockdown?

Mine were due a waxing the week lockdown was called so they are 3 weeks overdue now. I’m plucking low down but leaving the rest to Mother Nature. One is significantly bigger than the other now in all directions! I know it can take months to regrow so wondered if anyone else is attempting this?

Yes! And they look lovely! I'm just plucking the odd stray but I think they look much better.

Lovelydovey · 15/04/2020 22:35

I am. Ones growing back beautifully, the other is a state (many baldy bits not recovering).

TableNiner · 15/04/2020 22:54

Yes! Though still didn’t like the shape (never have)so have started on them again.

Swearwolf · 16/04/2020 06:34

I am! I've been plucking them since I was about 12, more than 20 years ago. I've been wanting to for a while but don't want to go out in public all stubbly so this is perfect. I don't think they'll grow back fully and there are some hairs coming through right in the middle which I don't want to keep, but it'll give me a good starting point to cultivate a new shape.

Elouera · 16/04/2020 06:38

@MummyGoingItAlone- Do you mean you used to wax your entire eyebrow off, and draw on prior to lockdown, or just wax a few strays? Confused
Surely plucking a few strays is no different from waxing them? maybe I'm missing something?

MummyGoingItAlone · 16/04/2020 09:19

No, not the whole eyebrow. As a teenage mine we’re huge and bushy so I’ve always had them waxed quite thin, too thin now.

Trying to grow them back to a normal eyebrow shape

How are you getting on? Mine look shocking. It was liberating at first but now I'm itching to pluck them. I'm trying to resist though until all the stubbly bits have grown and I can see what I'm left with!

MummyGoingItAlone · 21/04/2020 09:21

Same! The left one has started growing better now. Lots of bald patches though!

Yes and a regular application of coconut oil when I get up so it has an hour or so to soak in before I wash my face. Lashes and brows.

EngagedAgain · 21/04/2020 10:26

Erm yes, because a couple of weeks ago after years of resisting, I shaved one of mine off and half the other! They are not bad usually really, but not all that thick now. I just thought it would be easier to do that rather than mess about plucking and a bit of shaving (I use one of those small trimmers) However, I realised that pencilled in wouldn't suit me, plus I'd thrown out pencils. Using powder shadow looks better, but needs a bit of hair to adhere to. I'll probably just have the inner half of brow as usual and shave off the rest as it does seem to look better!

MummyGoingItAlone · 21/04/2020 10:58

That is brave! I can see why you’d do that though, does seem easier!

Or stupid! Haha. Done many a stupid thing with my hair at times too!

ladybee28 · 21/04/2020 13:48

Totally misunderstood the thread title.

Thought you had found an eyebrow on your back.

Not sure if I'm more relieved or disappointed!

MummyGoingItAlone · 21/04/2020 13:50

Ha ha! It’s quite possible! Without my lovely waxing lady I’m sprouting hairs all over the place!

I am doing this, but have realised that I have a LOT of grey eyebrow hairs 😭 I don't have many on my head, I'm 37...has anyone tried dying their eyebrows?

Lippy1234 · 21/04/2020 15:53

I dye mine once a week, I have quite dark hair but they are a bit greyer and fuller than a few years ago. I find it easier than using pencil or eyebrow shadow every day.

Bigbrowproblems · 21/04/2020 20:03

The first thing I'm doing when this is over is having my brows threaded. They are wayyyy overdue and they grow as a ridiculous rate.

I'm resisting sorting them myself as I'm crap at it and would rather get them done professionally but I am slowly dying on the inside.....

Believe me the photo doesn't do them justice!

And I can see a grey hair too!

P. S. Name changed to hide my shame. Hi to my SIL! 😂

Mine look absolutely terrible! The left one is stubbling up nicely and thickening out, whilst the right one has grown across my face rather that down! I know they are not supposed to be twins, but I think mine are completely different species!

First pic is before lockdown and what I used to have and this is from just now after I’ve tinted them (in the hope they looked better)...

I’m really looking forward to having them restyles though 😊

I am so impressed with your will power all who are resisting the urge to pluck -well done and keep going.
I grew back mine few years back and wore a lot of baseball caps to disguise the hideous goings on underneath. It took a while but they are so much better now -more even and more natural.
They still aren't twins but they are definitely looking more like sisters rather than a drinking straw and a just do it Nike tick thing.
Good luck op and all the other re-growers

MummyGoingItAlone · 18/05/2020 21:54

Just wondered how we are getting on? I’ve managed to not pluck anything bar the obvious strays. They are about 14 weeks since the last waxing. One looks wonderful with just one small stubbly patch that’s easily filled with a pencil. The other is coming along a bit slower and is a completely different shape!

I'm growing mine out just so that I have more hair to work with to make them look the same 😂 I always do them myself since the few times I had someone do them for me made them way too arched for my liking! Sadly I've been neglecting my brows since having DD 4 months ago, so I've given myself a full fringe to let them grow out in peace Smile

Swearwolf · 19/05/2020 18:34

Mine got incredibly hairy!!! I've cracked and plucked quite a bit, but left them a bit fuller than they were before. Haven't plucked them back to where they were yet.

DieSchottin93 · 19/05/2020 20:40

I was meant to get mine waxed on March 24th bit obviously that got cancelled. In the 15 years I've been having them waxed I've never gone this long between appointments 😭 however they're not looking too bad, I'm just plucking out the obvious ones in the middle and under my eyebrows and the white ones and not touching the smaller hairs right under the arches. They look alright but it's killing me knowing my eyebrow lady is so close and I can't go and see her 😭😂

Lovelydovey · 20/05/2020 10:10

Well they’re starting to recover having now had two months with no shaping at all. Though one is definitely more sparse than the other. But realistically I’m not back in work until September at the earliest and we’re not using video conferencing at work, so I’m going to leave them for another couple of months and then get them professionally shaped.
