Do you put eye cream on your eyelids?

I don't. Are you supposed to?
Do eyelids need moisturising?
If not why not?
I just applied eye cream by the by and my eyes are a bit stingy even though I only put it under my eyes and not even that close to my actual eye. Maybe as I fall into the Mature category the lines are feeding eye cream straight into my eyes.
Grrr

Yes I do, I use cerave eye cream on my eyelids every night. I'm not sure if it makes any difference or not really.

I do too! It feels lovely!

At night I do but in the morning just under them. My makeup ends up up elsewhere if I put cream on my kids.

Does it sting?

Never have but would be interested to hear what others do

my therapist you should only use a tiny amount and put it on your brow bones and circle around the outside of your eyes and underneath where the bones are, and very gently dab/blend it in.

Yes I do

What product are you using? Sounds like an eye product that’s not fit for purpose if it causes your eyes to water whilst being used as intended!

I use Kiehl’s products (serum and eye cream) and neither makes my eye water. I apply to my under eye and eye lid using gentle tapping motions with my ring finger.

Dependant on your skin, applying to your eyelid may have a different effect. Eg if you have dry skin, the eye product can help to fill in lines and help to soothe dry patches (sometimes eyeshadow can trigger a rash/mild dermatitis). If you have oily skin and wear makeup, it can cause your eye makeup to crease or fade faster, an eyeshadow primer may help.

Also I apply facial sunscreen to my eyelids! Not a large amount, just the remnants on my hands after applying it to my face. A dermatologist once told me to always wear sunscreen as a preventative ageing measure.

I have started using cream on my eyelids recently, because I got really dry skin on them (first time ever, at the age of 55) - it has helped, but when the skin is dry, the cream does sting.
