Dyson Airwrap, I’m going for it

Lockdown, cancelling many fun trips, horrible hair means I’m going to justify the expense.
I’ve got shoulder length, poker straight hair that’s highlighted but really mostly coarse and grey that usually looks limp.
The Revlon works well but has fried my ends.
Where would be the best place to buy it and has anyone seen any discounts?

Boots, then you get lots of points.

I've toyed with getting an air wrap myself, but still can't justify the cost. Enjoy!

mrsfury · 12/04/2020 15:29

Best thing I've ever purchased! You'll love it

Buddyelf · 12/04/2020 15:31

Keep us posted on how it goes. I’ve got the revlon one step and I feel like the more I use it the less effective it is and It fries my ends as well.

LokisLover · 12/04/2020 15:50

I got one direct from dyson and paid it off with PayPal credit.
It has taken me a little while to get to grips with it. I have wavy hair and it holds a curl quite well but I have read some people find the curl drops with an airwrap, I think you need to find a good product to use alongside it.

Palmtree76 · 12/04/2020 15:53

I did mine on QVC as did EastPay!

Go for the complete if you can with all attachments, you’ll never look back. I use mine every other day, the curly blow dry it gives me is incredible. Salon quality!

Palmtree76 · 12/04/2020 15:53

That should say EasyPay

PennyGold · 12/04/2020 15:57

Oh I've been debating getting one of these.
Let us know how you get on!

hopeishere · 12/04/2020 16:02

I'm debating one of these. I have a babyliss that I love but would like to be able to do waves and curls.

AgnesNaismith · 12/04/2020 16:04

I had one and didn’t find the curls stayed in at all - my Babyliss big hair is better at blow drying Confused

Plus point is I sold it on eBay for the same price as buying it....so even if you keep it for a while and don’t like it you won’t lose much!

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 12/04/2020 21:26

If you get it from QVC you can use it for 30 days then send it back if you don’t get on with it.

GreyHare · 12/04/2020 22:47

QVC has upped their return period to 60 days I believe.

KatharinaRosalie · 13/04/2020 14:30

I love mine - don't use it for curling as such, more for just volume and curling the ends. As it pulls your hair inwards instead of blowing it out, it gives a nice smooth finish without any flyaway hair

Quarantimespringclean · 13/04/2020 14:56

I’ve got one. The curls look great and first but never stay in. I get better results using the basic Dyson dryer to rough dry and then the Revlon one step to finish.

One important consideration is that if you buy direct from Dyson and decide to return it after the trial period they will send a courier to your house to collect it free of charge. If you buy from QVC and decide to return it you will have to pay the postage including insurance which would be hefty for such an expensive item.

AwaywiththePharaohs · 13/04/2020 15:54

Thank you for the comments.
I’m not sure how often I’ll use the curling attachment, I’m more looking for volume and a smooth blow dry.
The Volume and Shape looks like a good choice. I can always have a play with the curling barrels.

@Quarantimespringclean I had no idea Dyson do that! Thats brilliant to know, thanks Smile.

leli · 13/04/2020 17:02

I love mine. I have fine thin hair and use the Dyson dryer attachment to rough dry my hair really quickly, then the soft brush to add volume and smooth. It works very well for me although it is horrendously expensive. My only complaint is that it does not work in the States and I have to travel there for work from time to time.

faithinallisee · 13/04/2020 17:45

Find someone with a student discount and get them to buy it through Boots.

Elieza · 13/04/2020 17:52

Defo qvc U.K. they have three easy pays minimum for everything just now and 60 days to try your purchase at home and if you don’t like it you just pay the postage to send it back.

What’s not to like.
New customers get a fiver off too. No. No checks.

MotherFeeder · 13/04/2020 18:03

I love mine and think it's a game changer for me! I paid for a tutorial at the Dyson shop in London for £30 which was well worth the money too. I agree that you do need to find a product to use alongside it
