Is a Lumea worth it?

I am planning my next pay day purchase due to lockdown boredom. Is the Lumea worth it? And how long does it take for regrowth to reduce? Thanks Smile

YES! Best thing I’ve bought.
My regrowth actually reduced after the first two uses. I’ve recommended it to a couple of friends who have had really good results too.

Bluewavescrashing · 11/04/2020 21:31

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

Jojo19834 · 11/04/2020 21:31

Totally, although now pregnant I can’t use it to so wish I stepped up my game further before! Definite reduction in hair from the few times I used it. You do have to maintain tho, but far less so than shaving

TheFlis12345 · 11/04/2020 21:34

Actually there is absolutely no reason why you can’t use Lumea when pregnant. It hasn’t been scientifically tested so they can’t officially say it is ok but there is no reason for it not to be (my friend used to work for them).

ParisInTheSpringtime · 11/04/2020 21:38

Oh thank you! Good recommendations there. How often do you need to use it?

I am pregnant, and it didn’t even cross my mind it might not be ok actually.

Which one is the best? I'm not sure which one to go for

lettersbyowl · 11/04/2020 21:44

Yes x 100. So good. Am also pregnant and can't use it right now, but i has used it for about 2 months and then stopped due to pregnancy. It took me 3-4 months to need to wax or shave anywhere really as the regrowth was so slow and patchy. I have massive bald patches on my legs now where the hair just doesn't grow!!!

Gallade · 11/04/2020 22:02

I spent £400 on mine and don't rate it. You have to shave the area first which I hate doing. Sometimes I don't do it (i.e my neck) and it just literally singes the hair off/burns it!

I haven't noticed any significant difference... the hairless effect lasts a little longer than shaving but it still comes back.

bruffin · 11/04/2020 22:06

Definitelyveorked on my upper lip hair. Hasn't grown in months

TheFlis12345 · 11/04/2020 22:17

I did my legs and underarms 5 years ago (every fortnight for 10 weeks as they tell you). My underarms never grew back at all. My legs get the odd patch which I blitz every 6 months or so. It’s quite incredible!

ladybee28 · 11/04/2020 22:26

Those of you that have it, does it work on blonde hair or only dark?

I've got peach fuzz all over my face I'm dying to get rid of properly, and my legs are blonde... Happy to fork out for something that'll work all over, but not just for my underarms...

alltripe · 11/04/2020 22:32

Yes, had one for years. I used to be gorilla-like; now I get it out once every 3-4 months for minor small patch top-ups. I have much more spare time without the all the hair removal I used to be doing, and no ingrown hairs.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 11/04/2020 22:38

It’s my underarms and bikini area I am mainly concerned about, as this is where I get uncomfortable regrowth. And the backs of my thighs, bizarrely. Thanks for the comments!

OP posts:
FizzyPink · 11/04/2020 23:41

Has anyone used it after actual laser treatment? I had a course of 8 sessions on the bikini area and although the hair grows back much thinner and slower there is still significant regrowth. Just wondering if it’s worth purchasing as I could then do other areas as well or if that’s the best I’m going to get

DropZoneOne · 11/04/2020 23:54

Yes! I've got the Prestige BRI954

Hair on my top lip, chin, underarms and lower legs has pretty much totally gone. My underarms went from stubbley regrowth to soft, thin regrowth within a couple of weeks and hair free by the end of boot camp. Bikini is proving harder but i think that's because i find level 5 too ouchy there.

Surly · 13/04/2020 10:58

Interesting.
I have the tria which is supposed to be permanent hair removal and supposedly better than the lumea.
I have next to no hair on my lower legs at all but my arm hair and upper lip hair keeps coming back despite numerous goes with the tria and it's been about a year I've been using it.
I'm thinking of getting the lumea now as do many people claim it works on the upper lip.

Gallade · 13/04/2020 11:12

@surly my lumea has no effect on my upper lip. I'm the perfect skin type for it to work too. I assume it's hormonal.

Surly · 13/04/2020 11:39

@Gallade that's not good Sad. I shall forever have to live as a moustachioed woman.

Tonyaster · 13/04/2020 11:42

Yes. If I shave my armpits and don't lumea them, they itch as the hair grows back. Lumea and they don't itch at all. Had almost bald armpits after 4 orn5 sessions.

KizzyWayfarer · 13/04/2020 11:43

I bought a cheaper version of the same thing and it worked a bit to start with and then not at all - wasted hours of my life on it! So probably worth going for a ‘proper’ one.

Trichinella · 13/04/2020 11:44

Yess well worth it, but you have to put in the hours at the start. Every 2 weeks. I did it while watching the telly in the evening.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 13/04/2020 12:16

Thanks all! Really appreciate all the recommendations, and it is making me feel better about spending so much money.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 13/04/2020 12:23

Yes I'm naturally really hairy and I used to get really sore underarms from shaving them. Now my underarms are very smooth and only need to shave every week or so. Like pop has said my legs are also very smooth apart from the odd patch which grows back very fine.

Saved me fortune on razors and no more razor burn.

Batfinklestein · 13/04/2020 12:27

It is brilliant Palms! I have a Prestige one. It’s so nice not having to book wax appointments. And not having to deal with stubble and ingrown hairs on my bikini line and underarm.
I used to get spots whenever I waxed my upper lip so the Lumea is much, much better for that area too.
My only gripe is that it’s a bit of a ballache to do my legs. I try to to that in front of the tv to make it less tedious. And really that’s a small price to pay for the benefits.

Batfinklestein · 13/04/2020 12:28
