Doublebase gel. You don’t rub it in though. Smooth it on before bed and leave it to soak in.

You need to exfoliate them. Get that skin off to start with and then keep on moisturising after your bath/shower. Don't put products on top of the peeling skin. Remove it all first and exfoliate hard.

I'd invest in a trip to the podiatrist - not a pedicure at a beauty salon, a proper podiatrist. It won't be cheap, around £30-40 but one visit will be enough for them to get rid of the vast majority of dead skin which you can then follow up at home with buffing and moisturising. They can recommend products with the correct active ingredients too.

Lockdown notwithstanding, I usually go at the start of sandal season. They'll do your whole foot and sort your toenails out too.

That looks like a fungal infection to me. You won't be able to just remove the skin as it will keep growing back like that. You need to treat the underlying infection.

Nonameslob · 09/04/2020 08:22

Please don't exfoliate hard as someone suggested, you could end up with bigger problems. I would visit a podiatrist/chiropodist.

That looks like a fungal infection to me I don't know about this as I'm not qualified, but I was going to say that it doesn't look like the usual build up of dry skin, so it could be as a pp suggests and another reason to visit a podiatrist.

TooMuchEyeliner · 09/04/2020 08:52

Definitely fungal. My feet are exactly the same. Usually Canesten or other athletes foot treatment clears it up but I have had to have stronger creams on prescription previously. I wouldn’t recommend exfoliating or buffing as it makes things worse and can be quite painful.

absolutelyknackeredcow · 09/04/2020 09:48

Great suggestions here thank you. As soon as things are back up and running will go to a podiatrist.
I'm going to try canestan as I can get that easily and intense moisturiser isn't working

Canesten is for yeast, fungus is a different pathogen.

TooMuchEyeliner · 09/04/2020 10:39

Canesten also makes an anti-fungal cream.

Google eczema pompholyx OP. I have it and it flares up when weather gets warm. Fragranced creams make it worse but I find Vaseline and/or Diprobase keeps my feet moisturized. And dont go too mad scrubbing your feet as that can irritate. Do you have it on your hands also?
