Anyone planning to wear less makeup after this?

Just that really I appreciate this won't be applicable to those that don't wear it or only a tad of massaaca.

I've got my eyeliner recently done permanently my eyebrows are done too although faded as old now. That being said I'd still put the following on pretty much everyday for work and even when I wasn't... Primer, two types one for eyelids one for face, foundation, bronzing powder on under cheekbones, blush, sometimes eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, eyebrow powder, mascara and curling eyelashes and if I had important meetings or just felt like it red lipstick. To be fair the whole lot only took me 10-12 minutes to do so it's not a time thing.

I started lockdown maybe putting on eyebrows and a bit of bronzer, now I'm not wearing anything other than the afore mentioned eyeliner tattoo and faded eyebrow tattoos, and you know what I look ok, not that much worse than with a full face.

I think going forward for work I might just do mascara and a bit of bronzer at a push a tad of foundation around undereyes and nose to even things out a tad. Anyone else going to cut down?

I wish I were wearing less makeup, but the guy I started dating right before lockdown is on my team calls every morning! Try looking alluring from afar Blush

Floisme · 06/04/2020 14:35

I take a make up break every so often and so far, every time I've gone back to it, I've made a change. Often the change involves dropping something, although not always as the last time I did it, I was converted to lipstick! But the break gives me distance and helps me spot when something I've worn without questioning actually doesn't look good. I find it helpful and I imagine this time will be no different.

Deathraystare · 06/04/2020 14:41

Certainly not! I need it all!!!

dramaqueen · 06/04/2020 14:42

I’ve given up entirely, as I don’t think people can spot it on video calls. I didn’t wake a huge amount before, just foundation, powder, lipstick. I’ll probably go back to that.

ivenamechangedforthispost · 06/04/2020 14:44

I think I will reduce a bit!
I have been slowly reducing the amount I wear over the past few years anyway (since DD1 was born) I used to wear EVERYTHING including lashes everyday.

The only thing is I have rosacea and VERY fine blonde eye brows (even though I have dark hair)

I'm looking for a lighter full coverage foundation that doesn't feel caked on and a good eyebrow pencil for general wear.

ZaraW · 06/04/2020 14:46

I don't wear much so my routine won't change. I'm still working so nothing has changed for me.

Littleshortcake · 06/04/2020 14:46

I haven't worn any for a month going forward I will keep to a routine I had before lock down as I had perfected it and kept it simple. I tend to use a small bit of primer. Vicky defmablend foundation. Tiny bit of eyeliner and nude shadow. Also started contouring (bbold). I don't my brows once a fortnight.

One thing I might not get it shellac. I am managing without yet before I spend 40 a month on them. We've been on lockdown for nearly 3 weeks.

Rocaille · 06/04/2020 14:49

Yes, I think I might go foundation free when I'm out and about pottering, doing errands, etc.

I've got used to seeing my skin again.

Chickenwing · 06/04/2020 14:52

I was meant to be getting married this month, so I stopped wearing makeup in January to try and improve my skin. Now I don't know why I ever bothered with doing it daily, my face looks fine without it. Will wear makeup for a night out and feels nice to do myself up for an occasion.

Swiftier · 07/04/2020 12:24

I’ve reduced a fair bit and realised I actually look better with less make up.

I’m lucky as have long eyelashes and have realised that just curling them but not applying mascara gives them a nice look but is more comfortable to wear and probably keeps the eyelashes in better condition. I’ve just been wearing a little flick of eyeliner on the outside edge which is enough to make my eyes look done. No eyebrow pencil but a bit of brow gel. No foundation and just a dab of concealer.

Also left my hair to air dry which gives me soft waves, saves lots of time and will hopefully result in it becoming better condition in the long run.

damnthatanxiety · 07/04/2020 21:22

I've actually worn more since lockdown. I've really enjoyed taking time to make up. Not much else to do and I really enjoy the process

FartnissEverbeans · 07/04/2020 21:25

I love makeup. So no Grin

Nyancat · 08/04/2020 11:13

I love it and do full make up everyday before this. The last few days though I've just had a bit of concealer to cover spots, mascara, blush, lipbalm. I put some hourglass powder over and to be honest it looks better than before.

optimisticpessimist01 · 08/04/2020 11:33

I'm actually really excited to go back to my makeup routine and experiment/change it up a bit. I don't think I'll wear less when I wear makeup, but I think I'll have more makeup free days. I'm not planning on wearing makeup again until the lock down has been lifted, and I used to wear it every day!

AnPo · 08/04/2020 12:04

I'm the opposite. I've decided I'm going to wear it more regularly once lockdown is lifted.

I'm a SAHM so rarely wear makeup at all these days except for rare nights out/for dinner etc. I've been experimenting these past few weeks and remembered how much I used to love wearing it and how good it makes me feel. So I'm going to make more of an effort and take the time to apply it regularly at least on the weekends.

DippyAvocado · 08/04/2020 12:07

I don't usually wear very much but after seeing myself on all the video calling that I've never really used before, I have decided I need to wear more!

Boireannachlaidir · 08/04/2020 12:12

I hope people think more about where their cosmetics come from, how the ingredients are sourced, tested, shipped etc. I certainly intend to anyway.

I'm finding myself being less wasteful already and using items I didn't think I liked as much as others so would've bought more instead.

Notonmyshift · 08/04/2020 15:04

I've gone the opposite way and started doing a full face everyday.
Will go back to minimal when I'm back at work

troppibambini · 08/04/2020 15:19

I've not been wearing any during lockdown I'm usually always ina full face of makeup for everything and wouldn't go out without it.
Now I've been shopping and out for walks with bare face.
I will feel more relaxed about not wearing makeup after this is over.
But I much much prefer how I look with it.

BakewellGin1 · 08/04/2020 15:44

I've had none at all on since day 1 of lockdown and havnt blow dried or straightened my hair...

I'm looking forward to doing my make up only to have eyebrows and lashes again...

Currently implementing a bare face, hair up approach with leggings and Tshirt however in my defence this is helpful with Joe Wicks and our walk'/jogs

TerrorWig · 08/04/2020 16:21

It would be my actual dream to have skin I felt confident enough to not ever wear make up again - unfortunately, I have rosacea and naturally very dark under eyes.

I have just treated myself to some erborian BB and CC cream, also the green CC cream - while pricey, the BB cream in particular is really nice and very natural looking.

PhoneLock · 08/04/2020 16:26

Difficult for me to wear less.

I didn't wear any before.

Seventyone72seventy3 · 08/04/2020 16:27

I've given up make up entirely although I am teaching online everyday. I just can't be bothered with it. TBF I often didn't wear it before either.

anothernewone · 08/04/2020 16:32

No, I can't wait to go back to the routine of 'getting ready' every day, I miss it!

On a Saturday we have a lot of virtual interaction so I get glammed up then, and for my once a week where I get the food shop I get 'ready'.

I'm looking forward to planning my look again every day.

GG20 · 08/04/2020 16:39

No, because I couldn't wear less than none.
