Is this normal?

I’m white if relevant.

Sometimes, but not all the time, if I get a spot on my face or a minor injury (eg grazed knee after dropping, or shoe digging into my ankle) a reddish-brown mark is left on my skin after.

It’s not quite a scar because there’s no change to the texture of my skin and it eventually disappears. Spot “scars” on my face fade within a month but on my legs it takes several months.

Does this happen to anyone else or just me?

This happens to me all the time, not sure whether it's normal or not, but it is irritating. I have very pale, blue-tinted skin.

Normal for my skin

Post inflammatory hyper pigmentation. Happens in all races though.

Yes, it sounds like post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It’s crazy to think this doesn’t happen to everyone! Spent my whole life believing this was a standard “scar” process, when it’s not a scar at all

Any product recommendations to help aid the fading process? Particularly for my legs

I get those on feet if something rubs. It happens very rarely but I still have 2 marks from well over a year ago. I haven’t found a solution and don’t know if it’s a combination of getting older so skin doesn’t heal as quickly/well plus sun damage. I tried bio oil, Palmer’s scar oil and boots scar gel - no difference whatsoever and have applied religiously.
