Wash and set during lockdown??

My mum (78 yrs old), normally gets her hair done twice weekly with her local hairdresser. She never washes her own hair but obviously cannot go get it done at moment. She has short hair which is usually blowdried in waves. Can anyone recommend rollers /setting spray etc, that I could get to do her hair myself? I have long hair myself and no experience with blow drying short hair but am willing to give it a go! Any advice please.

When she could no longer do it herself my Grandad used to do my Nan's hair with velcro rollers - rough dried it then put the rollers in (small size) while it was still warm. She'd keep them in a couple of hours til it was completely dry then take them out. It always looked nice. I'm afraid I can't recommend any sprays, I just remember the rollers peeking out from under a scarf!

I think you can still find old fashioned setting spray (if that's what your man's hairstylist uses) in chemist shops or places like Home Bargains. Velcro rollers are definitely the easiest I'd recommend a round brush, too.

Thank you.....she doesn't get an old fashioned set.....its more of a blow dry....not very good at describing it! I appreciate your suggestions so will try the velcro rollers...she's afraid if she just washes it , it will just stick out/up. Rollers might be a good compromise! Thank you for the suggestion.

Heated rollers followed by hairspray?

If you blow dry your own hair why don’t you try to do hers ? A couple of different sized round brushes and a bit of practice . Rough dry first with a blast of the dryer and finish with the brushes . I would love to try it myself thinking about it :)
