Supportive casual shoes for walking

I have flattish feet. I'm now walking more and need more supportive shoes. Are Skechers Go Walk supportive ?
I have their memory foam trainers but I don't think they are supportive enough.
Help please.

I would say the GoWalks are less supportive then the trainers. They are comfy, but they are essentially plimsolls. I have a pair of new balance I use for walking.

Get trainers fitted at a running or outdoors shop - it won't matter if you don't run. Some running shops offer gait analysis. Once you know what type of shoe you need, look online for ones you like.
New Balance do different widths and they generally last well and are comfortable.
Other brands you could consider are Fitflops, Asics, Saucony ...

Thank you.
I woke with aches in my shins the past few mornings. I think it's my fallen arches that is causing the problem.

Obviously you can't go for gait analysis now but you could look at running sites to find out what sort of shoes to get.

You don't have to spend £££ on a pair. They are often much cheaper if you get last year's model.

I usually walk around 5 miles a day and do so in Skechers memory foam trainers. That's on regular pavements though. Although if I go through the woods and along the canal paths they are fine too. Would a proper walking shoe be better for you? Or a trail shoe? I used to love my saloman's years ago. Do you have prime wardrobe? You can order a few pairs to try and only pay for the ones you keep.

More shoe brands: Ecco, Hotter.

I had a pair of Sketchers about 20 years ago. I wore them for years until they couldn't be worn any more and it took me months to bin them, as I loved them so much. When I got them a friend copied me and got a pair in a different colour. They weren't memory foam.

These are the ones I've got as a replacement for my last pair that I wore smooth. I have narrow feet and ankles and walk a lot usually. They are very light and comfortable. I swap to Teva sandals in the summer as they are very sturdy and supportive.

Could you get inserts to give your arch more support? Proper walking shoes will have this built in but you might be able to make something more casual fit your needs.

I've just competed a 5 mile walk in my Skechers Summit Quick Lapse. They have 'non tie' laces so you can slip them on and off. They are so comfy!
So much so that I have just ordered a couple more pairs in different colours as they wil work well with summer dresses/shorts.
