Anyone had a mole removed on their face by laser by the Skin Clinic recently?

I went the Skin to see a consultant specialist in mole removal but he said they never remove mole with laser. I left very disappointed and confused as on their website it definitely states that they do and especially if the moles are small and on the face. I wondered if I saw the right consultant.

I haven’t been there but have had moles treated with lasers before...... I went for IPL and the beautician started to cover my moles so that they wouldn’t fall off and I said I want them to fall off so she left them and they went brown and crusty etc. Not sure if she was supposed to do that but I was delighted!! And much cheaper than a doctor. Can I add I had zero concerns about the moles being cancerous I just don’t like the look of them on myself

Is there a reason you particularly want them lasered as the method of treatment? I had my facial moles removed in January (by a plastic surgeon not at Skin clinic) and was advised that I could have laser, shaving or excision. The surgeon said that excision was the best option if I didn't want them to come back - he said there was a 50-70% chance of them growing back with the other methods, plus one of them was quite big and laser was not the best option on that one as far as I remember. The excision cost £550 for all 3, was done under local anaesthetic and I had non-dissolvable stitches that were removed after 5 days leaving really barely any mark. I had expected to have wounds and scabs that would take weeks to heal but in fact there was virtually nothing there when the dressings and stitches were removed - I had to really look to find a mark.

I have 2 moles on one side of the bridge of my noise. They are small but are quite close together the surgeon said there would be a 1 & 1/2 cm scar. So I was put off by the thought of it. Now i m trying to get a second expert opinion needless to explain it will not happen in the next few months now. So just want to hear others real life experiences. I think I got these moles while I was pregnant. So is it better to go to a plastic surgeon?

What you want is a surgeon who specialises in facial surgery, there isn't much flesh on a nose so you need to have someone who understands how to do an excision that will leave minimal scarring. I had a mole removed from the side of my nose many years ago, the guy who did it spent ages on the stitching, teeny tiny little stitches. Didn't leave a mark.

Thanks emsyj may I ask how did you find your plastic surgeon? Was a recommendation from someone you know? Would you be kind enough pm me the contact details of the clinic?

Thanks vique. One of the problems was that although the mole were small but they are about 1/2 cm apart so he suggested to do both in one cut hence there will be a 1&1/2 cm scar or just leave them as they are.

Yes, of course - I actually found him through a private GP clinic that I follow on Facebook because I went to school with the GP. They introduced a new clinic by a plastic surgeon so I went for a consultation. I am in the north west but the surgeon I saw has clinics in other locations including London. I will send you his name and details.
Re the scarring issue - technically I have scars but they are barely visible. Pale pale pink and I cant see a clear line. A 1.5cm scar may not look how you imagine it? Also there are things that can be done to minimise the scar if it does bother you. When I'm wearing light makeup my scars are not visible. If I posted a no makeup selfie I dont think you would easily spot where the moles were removed from.
