Tretinoin: how long from 0.25 > 0.5

Tretinoin users: how long did you use 0.25% before switching to 0.5%?
Have not noticed any difference with 0.25% as yet... no peeling, no dryness, no redness, no flaking.... so should I switch to 0.5? Or finish the tube?

They are AMAZING - if you ever use fake tan they're great for clearing off an old tan ready for a fresh one too.

Depends on your skin. I was on 0.5 for a year and never stopped peeling

So glad I'm not the only powering ahead with the tret while we're in lockdown and able to shed in private!

MissFoodie · 07/04/2020 08:12

@damn after a year was it worth it? And did you carry on, stop or switch to .1?

I have tiny bit of peeling but otherwise no side effects, using 0.5 every night for a month now

Well before a year it was clear that it was definitely making a huge difference. My hyperpigmentation was gone, my skin looked amazing....between all the peeling bits Confused. Unfortunately the peeling ruined the over all look so I cut it way back and now I use it a few times a week. My pigmentation is OK. Not perfect but better than if I did not use it. I have upped it a bit over this lockdown and will ease back off once we are going out again. It is fantastic but has to be kept up. I'm not so wrinkly so can't comment on how it affects wrinkles. I may try on my neck as it is looking a bit tired
