Psoriasis and makeup

Since having my DD 2 months ago, I've been experiencing the worst flare up of psoriasis - I used to have excema as a child and have minor flare ups here and there on my arms. These past 2 months, I've had it spread all around my eyes (including eyelids and reaching my eyebrows), around my nose and lips, as well as ears and neck. I don't mind it on my body as much as it's a lot easier to hide, but obviously not the case with my face and neck! The only way I can do that is with makeup but I know this is the worst thing to do as it'll just make it look more flaky and horrible. I've been to the doctors and she gave me so many creams to use - epaderm cream and ointment, doublebase cream, a steroid one and elidel for around my eyes. It seemed to work for a week and now it's flared back up again.
Any advice for what else I could try? Maybe more natural remedies? I've ordered a 2 in 1 hyaluronic acid serum and moisturiser as well as a sanex body wash to see if they help.

As a longtime sufferer, I'm sorry to say that I've never really found anything other than medication made a difference. You have my sympathy - I had a flare up at a similar time pp a few months ago although it's now under control as I've gone back on medication (stopped it while pregnant). If you don't want to go down that route, I've found aveeno to be the best moisturiser but it's all much of a muchness really.

I've had psoriasis for 30+ years and the only topical treatment that really worked for mine got discontinued so ive been without anything for nearly a year. I'm lucky my face only gets small patches but the rest of me is covered which I can hide apart from my hands which have large red, angry patches.

I started using Balmonds Skin Salvation balm on my hands two weeks ago and the results have been great - the angry redness is gone and the plaques are smoothed out and not flaky now. All that's left so far is a slight discolouration where the patches were. I don't usually expect any natural stuff to work but I'm very surprised by this.

It's only £7.99 for the 30ml size. I ordered direct from their own website and they're really quick for delivery.

@mynameiscalypso a doctor recommended aveeno to me 3 years ago and I've been a fan ever since, but it has to specifically be the green version of the cream, nothing else works. Sadly this time round the flare up is so bad that even trusty aveeno can't save me 😔

@MistressWeatherwax1 thanks, I'll look into that, I am more of a fan of balms and ointments in the drier months. I used to be really into the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, although that was before kids and expenses came along 🙈

Should also mention that I am South Asian and so the discolouration leaves me with panda eyes Sad pandas are cute, but sadly not a look that I'd choose for myself.
