They’ve suddenly appeared, seemingly from nowhere!! How do I get rid of them? Really worried they’re going to eat my clothes! 😭 x

I had them years ago. The odd few dotted about. Put a few traps out and caught some.

Then spotted one crawling out from the understairs cupboard and investigated there a bit more thoroughly. I found a heaving mass of hundreds of larvae, just hatched crawling moths, etc. Threw out a hessian bag which they seemed to be thriving on, threw out the carpet in the cupboard. Emptied it, cleaned it all out. Cleaned everything I put back in. Put traps in the cupboard and I think some form of spray. Sorted it.

There will probably be a hatching area in a dark corner somewhere. Maybe under a bed, sofa.....

We ordered smoke bombs from amazon and they killed them all. I lost virtually all my woollen clothes. I was devastated.

Took years to get rid of ours - had to replace the carpet but it was successful!

I moved.

They followed 😫

7 years later seem to have finally all died off...

You don't need a professional service. You can buy sprays off Amazon and do it yourself. Unfortunately, it's not a one and done type of cure. Do it weekly at first, then switch to monthly. This one is good: www.amazon.co.uk/Carpet-Moth-Killer-Litre-delivery/dp/B07BL4MJ8G/?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

You'll also need to start deep hoovering, including moving all furniture, nozzle around the edges. They hate being disturbed so disturb everything as much as possible.
