What beauty item can you not live without?

I’m sure this has already been done but I’m new here Grin

I saw a thread last week about what beauty products you had wasted money on, so wanted to reverse it and see what are the Best Buy’s you’ve ever made. Can be cheap as anything or a splurge!

Mine would be-
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hans cream. I’ve been using it for about ten years and no other hand cream comes close for me. It absorbed instantly and doesn’t leave my hands greasy or sticky

Any Anastasia Beverly Hills eye shadow- pricey but I took a risk on this and it’s hands down the best eye shadows I’ve ever bought. Heavily pigmented, excellent range of colors, really easy to blend and has staying power

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume/body wash/lotion- this is my ‘special occasion’ perfume. It’s soooo expensive but when you layer everything up, it really lasts all day/evening. I wore it on my wedding day and loved it. I used cheaper perfumes day-to-day (though still branded perfumes so we’re not talking Superdrug’s own budget brand) and I never find they last as well as the Chanel.

My Holy Grails that, until they're discontinued I look at no other brand are:
Clinique Quickliner for eyes in what looks like 1980s turquoise on the ads but is actually a soft grey with a tiny hint of blue

Dior Pump n Volume Mascara.

Vichy Vit C liftactiv serum

I must also always have in the house blue pot Nivea, Astral and Weleda Skin food.

Glossier Futuredew and cloudpaint for days when I just want to a "my skin but better" look. On top of my normal no7 serum and day cream it just gives a lovely dewy glow and makes my skin look really soft.

Magicpaintbrush · 05/03/2020 16:45

Drops of Light serum from Body Shop - it exfoliates, getting rid of masses of dry or flakey skin. I use it on my hands mostly (eczema) and sometimes my face - both feel so much smoother and softer after. You could use it on any dry skin, and slather on moisturiser afterwards. Brilliant stuff. Turns my eczema witch's claws into human hands.

DOL is indeed amazing!

Stumpedasatree · 05/03/2020 18:25

@NotStayingIn which collagen powder please?

katebushscat · 05/03/2020 18:57

Is the Dior lip glow any good??

Ethelfleda · 05/03/2020 19:42

Following!
maybelline lash sensational Mascara
NYX dewy finish setting spray

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 05/03/2020 20:04

Kate I love it as (the pink one 001 I think) is like a balm but goes pink to suit your natural lip colour. This week I've been applying with a brush as it's at the end and I've noticed it's lasted longer between applications.

Girlintheframe · 05/03/2020 20:15

My teeezermans!
NIOD HA
LPR -spf50
BB long wear foundation
EA 8 hour lip balm
Aveeno moisterizer/handcream
Moroccan oil hair mask

CandiceSucksCandy · 05/03/2020 23:13

Palmers cocoa butter moisturiser
Nivea white pot moisturiser
Burts bees lip balm
Avon glimmerstick eyeliner

NotStayingIn · 06/03/2020 10:38

@Stumpedasatree It's the Bioglan Beauty Collagen Powder. White and pink container with 5000mg marine collagen. The Holland & Barrett own brand powder appears to the same and a little bit cheaper. It took about 3 - 4 weeks to notice the difference. It really works for me but of course, that might not be the same for everyone.

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz

Tropic Sun drops is brilliant tan for the face. Put a few drops into your moisturiser, rub on and within a few hours it looks great!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 06/03/2020 11:27

Thanks Pentium. They look like a definite contender. And imagine they'll last a while too.

bobbletrouble · 06/03/2020 12:55

Nars tinted moisturiser
Nars blusher - orgasm and gaiety
Mac brave (pink) lipstick

Used the Body Shop lightest bronzer for years, but decided this year I'm not buying it again as the compact always, always cracks and breaks. Switched to Benefit Hoola light. Like the product, but what is with the tiny packaging I can barely get my bronzer brush in?!

ellanwood · 06/03/2020 13:06

Nivea Q10 moisturiser. It's the only one that makes my skin feel really smooth and supple, not dry and tight. I get through a jar month at least.

Pentium85 · 06/03/2020 13:09

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz

Yes, I use mine weekly and still lots left after a year

twilightcafe · 06/03/2020 13:15

Becca First Light Priming Filter
Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil
MAC Eye Pencil in Coffee (as a lip liner). I have dark skin, and this has been my Holy Grail lip liner for nigh on 20 years.
Aldi Q10 Serum
Pixi Glow liquid
Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay cologne. I either wear alone or with another fragrance every day
Maybelline Lip Tattoo lipsticks. They do not budge.

LajesticVantrashell · 06/03/2020 13:19

Clarins Supa Lash mascara
Elemis Peptide 4 Night Recovery Cream
Stila Shimmer and Glow liquid eyeshadow - the pigmentation is amazing!
Lush Almond shower gel

MinesaPinot · 06/03/2020 16:29

Clinique City Block spf40 - Every day, without fail
Mascara - used to use Lancome Definicils but looking for a different one
Clinique Take the Day off - Balm and Eye/lip make up remover

mommybunny · 06/03/2020 18:08

I’ve been a bit of a magpie recently trying all sorts of skincare and cosmetics over the last year or so but what I’ve been replenishing are the following:

It Cosmetics CC Cream
Embryolisse moisturiser
Tretinoin(!)
LRP Anthelios SPF 50

Will also replenish By Terry Hydra powder when that goes.

outofyourhand · 06/03/2020 18:39

@MinesaPinot Try Lancôme Hypnose. One of the best mascaras I've ever used. I have a Grandiose on the go at the moment but it's rubbish to be honest. Can't wait for it to run out so I can go back to Hypnose.

Wineloffa · 06/03/2020 18:41

Clinique City Block spf 40. I’ve been wearing this on my face every day for 15 years. I reckon if I went out without it now I’d probably burn!

Also, Benefit Gimme Brow.

Bluejuicyapple · 06/03/2020 21:44

IT cosmetics cc cream is literally the best thing I have ever discovered

Eesha · 06/03/2020 22:50

Dior Pump n Volume mascara- makes me look like a doll as I have long eyelashes anyway!
Moroccan Oil hair serum - lovely smell and makes my hair look in better condition

BridgetDarcy · 06/03/2020 23:04

Revitalash - Hands down. I’ve never found such an amazing product in my life.
V expensive but after 8 years of lash expensive, I saw it as a cheaper alternative. Within a month, my lashes were longer and thicker than they ever were - extensions absolutely trashed them and this gave them a complete new start. I’ve saved so much money, too.

Now able to use that lovely gold YSL mascara again, which I love.

Victor & Rolph Flowerbomb.
