Hair product for ‘those break-away sticky out hairs’!

Just that really, I have fine-med hair, coloured, which I blow dry with a brush, then sometimes straighten. Even after straightening there are those sticky out hairs left around the crown/top. I apply a bit of serum through the lengths and ends to keep them looking less frizzy/dry but can’t use that near the top/roots as it would look greasy, so what product will tame/flatten those stray hairs?

Hairspray such as Silvrikin Firm Hold Hairspray.

Indian Knight wrote about a miracle hair product in The Sunday Times Magazine last week. She said it smoothes flyaways and frizz without grease. Unfortunately the magazine went in the bin. I made a mental note to purchase said product but cannot remember the name.

Hope someone remembers the INDIA K recommended product. Sounds what I am looking for too.

L'Oreal Dream Lengths Frizz Serum used before blow drying works wonders for my hair.
I also use Wella Professional Oil Reflections.

My hair is fine (but loads of it) and tends towards coarse and frizzy.

This is the India knight one

Loreal garnier wax in the green pot

Gwenhwyfar · 29/02/2020 21:58

I don't rate Inida Knight's recommendations in general.

Anjelika · 29/02/2020 22:02

One tip I read which does work quite well is spraying hairspray on the offending area then running the BACK of a hairbrush over to flatten the flyaways.

I have the same hair type, really fine but lots of it, and the same problem. I’ve eventually found that milk shake leave in conditioner solves this very problem. And for a few days as well, because I don’t wash my hair everyday. And smells lovely.
It is expensive, but I’ve been using it for about a month, and hardly made a dent in the bottle so it seems it might work out value for money.
I’ll find a link.

BonnesVacances · 29/02/2020 22:18

Thanks for the recommendation ThreeFish. I've ordered some of that as I have that problem too.

SebandAlice · 29/02/2020 22:23

Thanks ClientQueen

Has anyone tried this? To date the very small amount of IK’s recommendations I bought have worked for me.

Sarcelle · 29/02/2020 22:37

I have ordered it. Not coming until April though....!

Cuddling57 · 29/02/2020 22:39

I have this too. I've started using hairspray ... and just not caring!

youvegottobekidding · 01/03/2020 21:01

Thanks everyone for your recommendations- i’ll certainly be checking them out. I’m not sure what causes them, although it could be because of hair colouring? Hair dyes (even permanent) wash out pretty quickly on my hair so I do try to leave as long as poss in between colouring. Could be age, I think my hair has taken on that pre-menopausal texture too.

OP posts:
Sarcelle · 01/03/2020 22:04

Think it is age. Change of texture in the hair.

goose1964 · 01/03/2020 22:06

I've bought Superdrug's black castor and (I think) she's butter curl treatment .My hair seems less flyaway

Alsohuman · 01/03/2020 22:17

I’ve got Hershesons Almost Everything Cream, I find it over rated.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/03/2020 09:35

Not age for me Sarcelle. I've always had them. If you have fine hair the baby hairs will stick out. It can be worse at certain times than others because of growth stages.

dontgobaconmyheart · 02/03/2020 10:20

Any hairspray or hair cream etc on a toothbrush or spoolie works, it doesn't really matter what it is so no need to rush out and buy something pricey.

They hershesons cream smells nice but certainly doesn't do anywhere near almost anything, it's just a fairly nice, conditioning blowdry cream really, of which there are loads. Hairspray on a toothbrush works better for flyaways around the hairline.
