Exceptionally dry skin on face after latex allergy

Stupidly, I used rubber gloves to do the washing up 9 days ago without realising they were latex.

About 30 mins after I'd finished I realised what I'd done from the smell of the latex. I went to scrub my hands but the damage had been done and an allergy developed on my cheeks and around my mouth the next day, from where I had touched my face.

That has now calmed down and gone away but I have been left with the driest skin ever on my face. I've tried everything I can think of to moisturise it - serums, extra strength Aveeno, face masks, oils... nothing has worked. My skin feels tight and uncomfortable all day long.

Is there anything I can use to plump and soften it back up again?

Have you got any hyaluronic acid? Personally (I'm presuming access to products here! I would must my face, apply hyaluronic acid and then a ceramide cream over the top and keep layering

Weleda skin food.
It's very thick but soothing. Maybe use as a night cream.

Weleda skin food or astral in the blue pot. As it’s allergic dermatitis, it will take a while to go down. If you feel really miserable about it, a timy bit of hydrocortisone will treat the underlying allergy,

Go to the pharmacy and get some 1% hydrocortisone. You'll be fine in 2 days

Astral made my skin blister

Nduja · 26/02/2020 23:30

I’ve tried the 1% hydrocortisone and it hasn’t helped at all!

I’ve just bought some hyaluronic acid on amazon!

Actually, I used the hydrocortisone in the first couple of days to get the red reaction to go down. I haven’t tried it since so I’ll give it a go again tonight.

I’m not sure it did much last week but I’ll give it another go!
