Natural Deodorant - The 5 year journey continues

Hi All,

I've been trying to use natural deodorants for about 5 years. I've gone from making my own mixture to using the likes of US companies Native and Schmidts - the latter two were both good deodorants but I had an issue with the amount of plastic packaging + the shipping from the US seemed a bit excessive.

So I've redefined my mission. I now want a Natural Deodorant made in the UK that works SUPER well AND comes in sustainable packaging.

I'm currently trialling 3 different companies:

Wild - Launching in April so haven't actually tried but their sustainable packaging looks beautiful and I've heard great things about the deo.
Ben & Anna - great cardboard packaging and smells good too, hasn't been 100% effective but only been trying for a week so will give it more time.
Salt of the Earth - seems to work well, smells are hit and miss and not sustainable yet.

I've also tried Nuud which isn't a UK brand but is EU, smells good and is truly sustainable which is fantastic. Unfortunately rubbing on the armpit with my hands was a bit gross so I've decided to stop that.

Interested to hear other suggestions from everyone and if anyone has some winners? I'll also post my results from the above UK brands + any new ones I come across.

I really believe natural deodorant is the way forward, the idea of putting nasty chemicals under my arms and blocking my pores kind of revolts me now so I'm determined to find the best option out there.

Thanks everyone.

I got some via our local food hub called FIT PIT - it's a cream that comes in a glass jar.

I've only used it a few times but it seems great - mind you I am just lounging arond at home so its not been stress tested.

Heres the description:
"By Fit Pit. Provides tough odour protection, deters excess perspiration and has a delicious cypress scent. 100% Organic natural ingredients, Aluminium, Paraben and BPA FREE, Plastic FREE, Cruelty FREE and vegan. Applied with fingertips and melts on contact with warm skin. No waiting to dry. No white stains. 25ml"

snappy oh how disappointing.
Everyone is so different, usually the brands people recommend are the ones I find useless, so I was pleased to find that Wild works really well for me. It's far more effective than Aesop (which I've used for ages) and works for longer.
Now I have to use it for more than a couple of months to see if it gives me a rash.
OP Wild packaging looks nice but seems bulky and heavy and I'd have preferred a plain container made from waxed cardboard or something.

I know. I'll still with my salt crystals from now on as they seem to work best for me

You asked about soap up thread I think... I'm happy using castille soap in the shower. Don't even bother diluting anymore just use fewer pumps.
Re deodorant i make my own but buy the odd one in-between so if it helps I've been very happy with natural deodorant co Been through several jars. Ben and Anna I'm also fine with except my fingers must not be as long as theirs! Crystal stuff doesn't work for me. Schmidt's had a crap hard texture so wouldn't bother, we love the earth a weird consistency but works.
