Products for a Youthful Glow?

I am late 30s.

I am overweight and this shows in my face, quite the double chin.

I have no wrinkles at all, no grey hairs and no bags

The only lines I have are the 2 11 type Frown Lines in the centre, which ate hidden by my fringe.

I struggle with facial hair but keep on top of it

Recently I have been asked if :

I was the mother of a friend in her 20s

Whether a colleague in her 60s was my sister

Whether my Mum who is approaching 70 was my sister

In the mirror, I can't really see a reason why I would be being asked this other than the weight in my face could be having a matronly affect.

I don't think I dress older than my age either.

It has given me a bit of a complex.

I think I often look tired.

Is there any product that has really had a Wow effect for you it terms of looking and feeling more radiant?

I work in a spa and the other day i said to a client (who i just saw hanging about) what treatments have you had? you are realky glowing her reply none yet i havr just put on clarins glow on her. She was absolutely glowing and alive looking.
But i would say try not to take the comments to heart, people can be utterly ridiculous. When i was in my 30s i was slim with long blonde hair, very feminine and some bloke said to me excuse me sir, i turned he didnt correct himself, seriously just odd.

Ooh that's interesting is Hourglass a pressed powder for over foundation?

Definitely will try Clarins Glow

I use the Trinny BFF cream. I’m 48 and it gives me a glow

Drink a lot of water as soon as you wake up. It’s very urm.... cleansing.
The Ordinary L.Ascorbic Vitamin C powder mixed with their hyaluronic Acid serum. Start off with about a quarter of a scoop twice daily and work up. I used to buy expensive stuff. This has given me the most obvious and most amazing results as far as glow and skin tone are concerned. It’s cheap. It doesn’t irritate.
Sunscreen. Every day. If you don’t wear sunscreen, your skin will be dull and ashy.
Use a tinted moisturiser, not a foundation.
If you need more coverage, spot conceal.
You only need full-coverage foundation if you are a Youtuber. Otherwise it’s ageing.
A light pop of peachy blush (preferably cream, even though it doesn’t last as long, will make you look amazing. If you can afford it, nothing beats NARS Orgasm Multiple Stick, but I am sure there are cheaper dupes out there.)
*You say you are overweight and have facial hair... Have you been tested for PCOS? It is possible that you could benefit from low GI or low-carb lifestyle. (Check with doctor...) It would help with weight, skin issues, facial hair, etc.... there may also be medications and treatments available if you meet the criteria.

Yep. I have PCOS. I'm on the Mini Pill. My foundation is pretty good, but I have been tempted by both IT CC cream and Givenchy Teint Balm

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter.

I would consider asking your doctor about spironolactone if your kidney function and blood pressure is OK. It might help suppress the facial hair, and also has a mild diuretic effect, so can help kick off a very small amount of weight loss. (Good for confidence!) The facial hair in itself will be contributing to the dullness, as it affects the skin’s texture and if your skin is very fair and the hair is dark, it is often still somewhat visible in the follicle, creating a gretigs effect. The iT Cosmetics CC cream offers a fairly full-coverage effect, but doesn’t clog pores. I highly recommend the original version. (It’s easily sheered out with moisturiser if you want less coverage, too.) It also has the added advantage of offering extra-high spf. (One of the few cosmetic SPFs that I actually rate. I still wouldn’t rely on it alone, though.) Anyhow, it is one of the most flattering and forgiving “foundations” out there.
