“Fine lines” under the eye

I’m 35 and probably have an average amount of this under my eyes but it really bothers me because I also have quite dark circles but corrector and concealer just highlights the lines

So I need help with minimising the lines generally and also maybe concealer tips?

I’ve been trying to use less concealer and use it lower down, away from the lines, but find it hard to avoid them...

Try using the real techniques miracle sponge to apply concealer,it stops all the make up highlighting the lines.

Also apply the concealer low down and use a brush to blend up,than pat over with the sponge.

Look at Suzie O'Neil on Instagram for tips.

Will look at the Ordinary @Juancornetto

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor Is that different from a beauty blender type sponge? That’s what I’ve been using and trying to apply it lower down but struggling to miss my lines 😩 do will look up Suzie O’Neil

Thanks!

I used to have the same problem. I came across this thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/2680123-Lanacane-anti-chafing-gel-as-a-primer

As a result of which I bought Lanacane anti chafing gel and use it as a primer under my eyes. It works, for me at least!

Hi. I use Bobbi brown colour corrector under my eyes followed by Touché eclat (the one that is the full concealer not just the old standard one). It works really well for correcting dark circles and is lightweight enough not to make the lines worse.

soloula · 23/02/2020 20:22

Have you tried using a peach/salmon toned corrector for the dark circles first? Or orange if you have darker toned skin. Apparently these shades are opposite to the purpley blue tones of dark circles on the colour wheel so help cancel them out. Then a light concealer in any shadows of bags to hide them then foundation over the top. Lightly powder the area to set them. Try avoiding putting too much product where the fine lines are to avoid it settling and accentuating them. I concentrate on my inner eye area as that's where my dark circles are worst and avoid putting anything on my outer lower lash area where my lines are, just a teeny bit of foundation and powder there. You're better using different types of product to help them stay longer. I use a creamy peach corrector stick from nyx and touch eclat,

I’ll look at the anti chafe gel and the touché eclat. I didn’t know they did a proper concealer one

@soloula Yes I use a peach or orange corrector and a concealer and I’m trying not to use too much and to keep it away from where I’m getting lines but I’m finding I can’t cover the darkness while doing it that way so I’m either concealing as much as I need and getting creasing in my lines or just using less concealer (which means my dark circles show more than I’d like)

@BunnytheBee I have the same issue. I have very dark brow hereditary circles so nothing to do with tiredness. The rest of my face is quite a few shades lighter and I hate wearing a full face of foundation corrector concealer but I don’t have a choice. It all just highlights my lines. I’m seriously thinking of getting tear trough fillers but it’s so expensive.

I was on a BA flight last week and was looking through their duty free magazine, two eye serums caught my eye and seems to have good reviews. They are stupid expensive though but cheaper than fillers so I’ll probably try them first - Bioeffect EGF eye serum and Dr Levy Switzerland eye booster concentrate. The Dr levy one seems very scientific
