Budget cleansing/moisturising recommendations

I am on a tight budget atm but anyway have never massively found that spending more money makes my skin look or feel better. But I’ve just been buying the same thing over and over from the supermarket and need some help.

I need:

Some kind of cleanser - I like the feel of foaming up and washing off but have been using an oil-melt-type one you wash off with a cloth and quite like this too. I don’t like a creamy cleanser without a water step.
Depending on the above, possibly also an eye-make-up remover
A moisturiser

Am willing to spend up to £10 apiece on cleanser and moisturiser but much less on eye make-up remover. Would prefer to spend £5 apiece though!

About me: early 40s, oily/combination skin with some occasional mild breakouts and probably a bit congested (mirror crap, can’t see Grin).

Hit me with your exciting recommendations!!

Superdrug Vitamin E range is great .

Have a look in Aldi. I have normal/dry skin nearly 60 and the caviar moisturiser is the best. They also have a hot cloth cream cleanser.
They have different creams/cleansers and they are not to expensive.

Apparently Aldi beauty products are good, but I didn't know before I got a load of Body Shop Vitamin E stuff (which is also good!)

DumpedByText · 21/02/2020 23:46

I swear by the camomile cleansing balm from The Body Shop and Aldi Q10 moisturiser. I used to buy high end stuff but the cheaper range is just as good.

AllTheCakes · 21/02/2020 23:48

I love the Superdrug hot cloth cleansers. They are all under a fiver and take my eye make up off too. I quite like their vitamin E moisturiser as well.

Soap and glory peaches and cream cleanser is great. It takes all my makeup off in one go. It is a cream, but you rub it all over then rinse off with warm water.

NotSoFlatStanley · 21/02/2020 23:50

Superdrug naturally radiant or Vitamin E products are good budget ranges I’ve used consistently for 4-5 years. I’m late 40’s with combination skin.

Superdrug. Google the Sali Hughes recommendations.

PM me an address and I can send you a few things to try!

PiratePetespajamas · 22/02/2020 00:01

Oh I’m having such fun with this thread already - thanks for the recommendations so far! Really enjoyed reading through Sali Hughes’s list and on the basis of that, and several recommendations on here, think I’m going to go out and buy the Superdrug vit e hot cleanser tomorrow! Now, as for moisturiser...

Aldi caviar cream night & day is great - total copy of la prairie cream.

I really recommend CereVe hydrating cleanser and moisturising lotion. They're great value - big 236ml pump bottles for £6.75 online www.lookfantastic.com/cerave-hydrating-cleanser-236ml/11798700.html and my skin looks and feels so much better since I started using them.

I've tried the Superdrug and Aldi ranges too and they're good - but, for me, CeraVe is better!
