Dehumidifier for skin

Was listening to Nadine Baggott on the radio yesterday, and she was raving about dehumidifiers being great for plumping up skin.
Just wondered if anyone had tried this before I splash out on one? She said a cheap one would do.
Wondered if it might be good for dry eyes too?

Surely she means a steamer or something similar?

A dehumidifier takes moisture out of the air which I can only imagine would be bad for skin? Like plane air? Very drying?

Have you got a link to the radio show? Nadine is normally pretty on the ball with skin care.

Agree with everything BanjoStarz says.

Don't buy a de-humidifier it'll dry your skin and eyes out!

Do you think she meant a humidifier, like the ones you'd use for a child with a cough? You add water to it and it puts water vapour into the air.

Which radio show was it? I've can't find details of it on Nadine's sm.

It must be a humidifier, could cause damp in the room though and I assume it wouldn't be great for hair that isn't naturally smooth and straight.

Oops sorry, yes, i meant a humidifier.
The radio show was Jo Good on BBC London - Wednesday about 2.30pm (you can find it on iPlayer). She often has skin/beauty/make-up people on and listeners phone in with questions.
She (NB) said in winter, with central heating etc, skin and hair gets really dehydrated and a cheap humidifier works wonders.
