Cod linked to ASOS!

what is the world coming too?

DoubleBluff · 04/09/2007 16:41

And there was a time when I wore velvet hot pants, heaven!

Tinker · 04/09/2007 16:46

Surely the same rules apply to shorts and tight as those taht apply to mini skirts? ie probably about 5% of the population of mn?

Tinker · 04/09/2007 16:47

I too had velvet hot pants. Loved them!

EffiePerine · 04/09/2007 16:49

Yes, I used to wear cut offs and opaque tights. In my teens. And I had good legs (people used to fall off bicycles - happy days).

LaCod · 04/09/2007 19:24

I used to wear very short denim shorts, black opaques and huge DMs!

Now I'm a bit fatter but I still quite like the look ofshorts and opaques (but HATE shorts with leggings like some people round here wear; think it makes their legs look really stumpy).

I think that shorts need to be a bit longer than those pictured (although obviously if you have fab legs, go for it); the tights need to be brilliant quality (I'm liking M & S Autograph range) and shoes need to be quite chunky, maybe wedges.

I have a pair of grey shorts from Gap, about 3 inches above the knee and they are sooooo comfortable for work, worn with a white or black silk shirt. Smartish looking but feels much easier to wear than a suit.

LaCod · 04/09/2007 20:10

oh liek the shirt idea
legs are good

I love the disco topshop ones... they make me snurk

also the felt ones and agree with janebus about going smart, but I would never wear them, I am just too stumpy...

Gobbledigook · 04/09/2007 22:28

Yes. I'm after these

LaCod · 05/09/2007 09:16

I wore mine to work today and got asked not once but twice if I had lost weight!!! My legs are pretty good so obviously distracted from the belly! So am now even more of the mind that tailored shorts and opaques are the way to go. I was too hot in my opaques though because my classroom was designed on the assumption that if the wondows open more than an inch, the pupils will jump out of them.

janeitebus · 05/09/2007 18:41

Wondows?!!!!!

I bought DD2 a pair in H&M yesterday that look like a baby version of the Ted Baker ones on the link. V.V cute.

I would like a pair that come to the knee. Not sure if my local town is quite ready for such a fashion statement just yet. Think I could be stoned and run out of town.

Must get me a nice pair of muffin top jeans ( 2 sizes too small) and a pink velour hoodie that only reaches the bottom of my ribcage (2 sizes too small).

Would fit in perfectly, then.

I used to wear these back in the early 90's...loved them!! Was a size 8 too..

Now I'm a lump amd my size 8 15 yr old is wearing the style and looking gorgeous...

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 10/09/2007 11:47

I have a lovely dark brown pair from Gap I bought 2 or 3 years ago in the sales. It has never even occurred to me to wear them in the winter, but they would actually be really nice. They are very tailored and close fitting to the leg.

Hmmm, think I might give them a test run
(If you don't hear back from me, assume I have been burned at the stake)

disagree...dont think you necessarily have to be tall and/or skinny....but you do have to have nice legs....and i suppose it does help if you are younger

ive seen short curvy stylish women wear short shorts and look enviably dashing.

cardy · 10/09/2007 16:51

Like these but don't sure if i'll feel like 'mutton'. How many inches above the knee is acceptable?
