How important are the faffy bits of snippy that the hairdresser does after they have BBC dried your hair?

I have thick hair. Every hair appointment is about 1/4 cutting and 3/4 drying. I really can’t be arsed any more and would quite happily leave the hairdressers with wet hair, but they always seem to do extra bits of chopping once they have finished drying. Is it totally necessary?

My hairdresser cuts then rough dries my thick short hair then goes over it - quite a bit of club cutting to take out excess weight where it's not wanted and evening up the outline if needed. Your hair behaves differently when dry and with thick hair this is amplified. When it's wet it can stretch and stays where it's placed.

My mobile hairdresser doesn’t mind leaving my hair wet, but then I do have a fairly simple cut done and usually leave my hair to dry naturally anyway (it’s curly). Always looks good when it’s done though, and it’s saved me an absolute fortune. I hated paying loads extra to have them blow dry my hair into some ridiculous shape that I would never normally wear my hair in. You just need to find the right hairdresser.

I think once they've dried your hair they can see some strands that need trimming / shaping to sit 'properly' in your style.

Perhaps I could come to some arrangement where I leave with wet hair, go about my day, then come back once it has dried and they can have at it then 😄

Of course it’s important.Confused
For many hairdressers it’s an art form- they’d probably like to know they have done their best work!

The faffy bits of snippy are to me, the haircut.
