Eye make up woes

I've never been able to get the hang of eye make up. I'm really shortsighted and wear glasses; obv I have to remove them to apply make up but that means I can't see what I'm doing when putting it on. I also have hooded eyelids so even when I manage to get anything on them it's not really noticeable once my glasses are back on. I really love the idea of getting into really dramatic, colourful eye makeup but I'm struggling! Any suggestions to get round these issues, please?

I bought a 10 Xs magnifying mirror, sat down with my make up and iPad. Watched a few how to you tube videos and kept pausing them and had a go copying with the make up. Takes practice and confidence. I like wayne goss tutorials.

I asked for help with makeup and someone suggested the Wayne Goss tutorials which really are great. There is one specifically for hooded eyes which I also have a problem with. Just don't watch too many videos as it will confuse you, find one you like the look of and practice that. A lit magnifying mirror might help, and have a practice using existing bits of makeup that you already have before you rush out and buy new.

As someone else says it takes time, confidence and practice. I realised that spending time on your makeup and using more products can still look subtle and natural if you do it right.

Magnifying mirror and accept that hooded eyes generally mean you won't be able to wear some of the styles of eye makeup you see on youtube.
