Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Olaplex? My hairdresser recommends it as i have my hair bleached and have some porous parts, will it help the condition of my hair? help my colour take better?

I haven't had it but I've heard good things about it. No harm trying it.

myhandsareverycold · 13/02/2020 20:03

I love it. Makes a real difference. First time you apply it it does feel a bit funny. My hair felt a bit like cotton wool but when I dried it looked great. I put mine on overnight.

Frequency · 13/02/2020 20:03

I love Olaplex one and two (the bits your hairdresser uses). Like Olaplex 3 but can't bring myself to pay for it (I'm an insured freelance stylist I have access to salon sized bottles of Olaplex 2 so I use that instead). Not impressed by Olaplex 4 and 5 - the shampoo and conditioner. Never tried 6 and 7 yet but want to.

One and Two are well worth the price, so is three really of you can't get your hands on 2ltr bottles of 2.

I was dubious but when I remember to do it regularly (once a week/fortnight) it definitely improves the condition of my dry yet greasy bleached hair. Stick it on over night.

soberfabulous · 13/02/2020 20:22

Olaplex 3 is reasonable on amazon and I use it regularly at home. It's brilliant!

timeforawine · 13/02/2020 20:50

Thanks all, i'm having 1 and 2 at the salon and buying 3 from there to continue so home. Fingers crossed for good results, i love having bleached hair but not how dry it can feel. I know i should buy better shampoo too

I think it's genuinely very good. Really will protect your dyed hair.

timeforawine · 13/02/2020 20:53

@Frequency are there any particular shampoos you recommend? My salon is a wella salon so i use their silver shampoo but as yet I've only used l'oreal dream lengths at home

I use 3,4 and 5. Absolute game changer.

YakkityYakYakYak · 13/02/2020 21:06

Very good! My hairdresser adds it into the colour rather than doing it as a separate treatment and it makes my hair feel lovely afterwards.

Bloomburger · 13/02/2020 21:08

Innoluxe is brilliant too. Their leave in conditioner is amazing totally changed my cottony hair to speak and managable luscious locks.

I was going to start a thread on opalex!

I read stuff about it and I don't understand it. What do these numbers mean?

Bleubell · 13/02/2020 23:59

I use 3,4,5 and 7. Well worth the investment! I've had a full head of bleach 3 times to get to the shade I want and my hair is the healthiest it's ever been due to olaplex.

tobee · 14/02/2020 00:04

Probably help if I could spell it Blush

lexiepuppy · 14/02/2020 00:36

I have dry , bleached blonde curly hair and I'm now inspired to buy some olaplex. So is 3 the best to use at home?
😁

GrimDamnFanjo · 14/02/2020 00:52

Hmm I didn't know you could buy it outside a salon!

EKGEMS · 14/02/2020 01:18

Yes it was amazing how my hair felt afterwards

soberfabulous · 14/02/2020 03:33

lexiepuppy 1 and 2 can only be used in a skin. 3 is an intensive mask that you use at home. It's fab!

timeforawine · 14/02/2020 06:28

This has been super helpful thank you. I'll see how i get on just using 3 at home after the salon treatment before deciding whether to also buy 4 and 5.
What's 6&7?

timeforawine · 14/02/2020 06:33

@tobee 1 and 2 I believe are there in salon treatment, 3 you buy to continue at home, 4 and 5 are at home shampoo and conditioner. In toying with buying them

Luckyonetwo · 14/02/2020 06:34

Yes I use it at the salon every second/third time I go and have 3,4,5&6 at home I only use 3 every 2 weeks. I do have healthy hair anyway but this has made a difference that nothing else has in the past.

Luckyonetwo · 14/02/2020 06:38

7 is a hair oil that you use after washing and drying I will get when other one is all gone 6 is a hair cream that you put in after washing for protection.. well that’s how I use them.

Girlintheframe · 14/02/2020 07:24

Sadly it made no difference what so ever to my hair

DixieLandReject · 14/02/2020 07:27

Yes I have it at the hairdressers, I am bleached blonde and it really helps with the snapping. I use Osmo purple shampoo and mask (Amazon) and Caviar shampoo and condition which is pricey but worth it, it amazing!
