DS is getting an award next week at his sports club prize giving. It’s a buffet and ceilidh at the clubhouse, so not mega formal. I already feel so out of place- it seems to be all families who have been doing the sport for generations, neither DH or I do, just discovered randomly that DS was a natural at it. So all other families are pretty friendly with each other, and very fit and toned from their hobby, I am notBlush. Size 18, 5ft9- if anyone has seen an outfit to fit the bill I’d be delighted!
Thanks.

What's the sport OP? You don't have to say but it might give some indication of general dreas codes. Some sports are 'posher' than others.

In all honesty it's not a special occasion on a high scale so I wouldnt be wearing anything to formal like a full on dress. A nice wrap dress perhaps at the most or a midi skirt with a top (nice and swishy for the ceilidh bit!) - trousers and nice top if you're not a skirt person?

Are there any photos on facebook/club website etc from previous years? Just to get an idea of how formal/what others wear.

I’d just wear a nice but casual/day dress. So no satin evening gowns, but perhaps a casual printed midi or maxi dress.

Is is polo or martial arts? To give us an idea of the dress code.

If there is a ceilidh you will need something comfortable to dance in. I would wear a dress with a swishy skirt or a skirt and top and flatish shoes.

Fatface have loads of nice comfortable swishy dresses at the moment.
