Comfiest bra for 36gg?

Just that really ... I'm tired of uncomfortable bras. I have so many, none for properly, despite going to bravissimo and spending a lot of money for a bra that just sticks into me and hurts. I couldn't tell in the 5 mins I wore it in the shop, so reluctant to try that again. Wired bras rub under my arm pits or dig in around my rib cage. Maybe unwired is the way to go, but how to avoid pushed together boobs?

I've looked at Molke, but they don't look like they give a lot of support and are expensive.

www.marksandspencer.com/hibiscus-spacer-light-as-air-underwired-full-cup-bra-c-g/p/clp22395219 These light as air bra are comfortable. I am F cup and also found most bread very uncomfortable digging into my rib cage and arm pits. Threes range of M&S bras don't do that.

They win for comfort on me but there's certain tops I've worn and seen photos of me wearing and the bra is prone to a bit of sideways spread. That might just be me though.

I'm the same size as you OP and have never found an M and S bra that fits properly.

I went to Bravissimo, and ended up with one that was uncomfortable. I took it back and they happily refunded me. I then went to a local department store, where they sell lots of different brands. The measuring was great, and I ended up with 2 Freya bras, which were a hundred times more comfortable than the Bravissimo one.

I think you need to get someone to measure you who knows what they're doing.

As a rule of thumb, you need the wires between your boobs to sit flat against your chest, and the band around your chest should be strong enough to support your bust, with the straps just giving a bit of extra help.

I'd go elsewhere if you can, get measured then try a few different brands and sizes.

I rarely get up go anywhere where they measure, as I live in a small town .. hence why I couldn't take the bra back either.

Have you got a local independent bra shop? They are fantastic in my experience, really know their stuff and loads of brands. I find different brands fit very differently and suit different shape boobs. You have to try loads on.

LidlDonkey · 01/02/2020 22:00

In that case, OP, you could order some online from different brands and try them on at home?

I like bratabase.com to have a nosy at how bras look on other real people before I buy, since I only buy online. The reviews can be quite helpful too. I bra shop by looking at what Bravissimo has in my size, looking it up on bratabase and seeing how it looks on other people to see if the style works in my size, and it also has info on which other bras have the same cut so you can see what else might work too. And then I buy online because I'm not taking my toddler to a bra fitting!

There are some brands which are catering for the many people who find the underwires poke under the arms (me!), I can't remember what off the top of my head though! I liked the Elomi "bandless" styles and currently have a Bravissimo Erin. I think the Cleo range might have shorter wires too but it's been a while since I fitted them Blush There's good info on reddit's abrathatfits and possibly the Boob or Bust Facebook group (but I'm not a member myself).

You need a Prima Donna Deauville bra they are £££’s bur are amazingly Comfortable. They don’t do a GG but do H, I wore a 34 H and it was the only bra not to dig and leave marks when I took it off.

I used to go to Rigby and Peller or to an independent shop. I’m only and E cup now so Bravissimo ones are fine.

TabbyCatPaws · 02/02/2020 14:26

I've been wearing these for several years OP, very comfortable and supportive for larger sizes. They look great under daywear/workwear too.

I agree about the Prima Donna Deauville, or alternatively Madison. I had them both in 36H and they were by far the most comfortable bras I owned.

I also worked in a lingerie shop and sold many, many of these to our larger busted customers and never had a bad report of one.

SunbeamsOverhead · 02/02/2020 18:54

Make sure you get measured & try them on. Do you have a Bravissimo or a Rigby & Peller near you? Or John Lewis?

AnotherEmma · 02/02/2020 18:54

I swear by Bravissimo. I've had bras from there that ended up being too uncomfortable but they're always good about returns. Often if I go back and explain to the fitter, she will find something more suitable. For example, Bravissimo's own styles seem to have more forgiving wires than some other brands. Of course it depends on the size and shape of your breasts and body, too. I advise you persevere with Bravissimo or try an independent bra fitter if there's one close to you.

Strawberrycreamsundae · 02/02/2020 19:05

I'm 38ff and after years of trying to find a comfortable bra I can definitely recommend Fantasies bras, they're comfortable and a reasonable price.
I particularly like their Helena and Belle bras.
The M&S fitter spent nearly an hour and goodness knows how many damn bras without finding a single one that fitted me or was comfortable so don't waste your time trying there!
