Anyone know how I can get rid of the white under the skin bumps on my face without having to go to the doctors?
I’ve literally tried so many products & nothing has helped. Face washes, acids, toners, masks. I’m so fed up.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Watching because I have the same issue. My next go to will be checking out the local skin clinic - I didn’t want to have to go that far but seems like there is no solution.

I have them too. I think they might be milia, and have had them removed before - but not very successfully.

Perhaps we should get a coach load to Dr Pimple Popper in California!

I've got Milia too, i've done a load of googling & basically use a good cleanser, a chemical peel( 2/3 times a week) and a retinol as a daily regime..

So am now using - Beauty Pie Jeju here followed by Nip and Fab glycolic pads as a chemical peel, here followed by The Ordinary retinol 5% here

Been doing it a week and my skin is FAR FAR clearer and brighter and the milia are definetly reduced - but its early days. I think it will take a few months of regime to really see if its worked.

Electrolysis works for me, and I had loads on my forehead. Had one treatment, think it was around £60, they looked quite red and angry afterwards and the procedure is uncomfortable rather than painful. They were all gone after about a week. Had a second treatment maybe a year or so later when some came back but was told this is common, i.e. if you have them they are likely to return at some point.

@thefaeriequeene I watch plenty of Dr Pimple Popper - feel free to direct your coach to my house - I feel suitably qualified to treat you having watched lots of uTube

You might already do it but I find double cleansing really helped.

FlossieJEM · 05/02/2020 13:37

As a beautician I practiced removal of milia (whiteheads - the same as a blackhead - a build up of skin cells and oil beneath the skin hence not oxidising and staying white) the best removal practice is lancing with a sterile needle, call some skin clinics to see if they offer milia removal. I don't recommend doing it yourself BTW!!! Exfoliation and cleansing is unlikely to help with removal but with prevention. Drier skin types often experience milia. Oiler skin tends to get blackheads.

If you can face it - I poke them out with a sterilised needle! They may bleed slightly, you have to be careful but they come out as a little hard ball and it’s really satisfying! I only ever get one or two though, not sure it’s a good idea if you have lots.

FartnissEverbeans · 05/02/2020 14:52

Do it yourself! Just get a needle. So satisfying

margaritasbythesea · 05/02/2020 14:55

Watching because I want to know too.

Drum2018 · 05/02/2020 14:56

I've done it myself. I have a blackhead removal kit that has a really sharp needle like tool. I just break the skin with the tip of the tool and it usually just pops out. A sterilised needle would work. Needless to say if it's near the eye area I just leave it.

I do this too. I love getting one up on that little ball of scuzz!
I have one right now though, in the tender bit between my nose and eyeball. Bit wary of poking around in that one.

Northernsoullover · 05/02/2020 15:03

I either removed mine with a sterile needle or I'd scratch them until they got angry and I could pick them off when they scabbed. How I didn't get an infection from the latter I'll never know.
I don't get them any more. I wonder if its my age. I miss them but not half as much as the sebaceous filaments I used to have on my chin and nose.
