Anyone else using coconut oil to remove makeup?

Hi there, I've been using coconut oil to remove my make up for years. I used to use the Shu Uemura High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil which is silly money but that I loved. Then I tried coconut oil and it made the Shu Uemura oil seem like a joke. Coconut oil works a thousand times better. And I'm not using any fancy type: I buy £2.50 jars from the local Asian food shop. It removes everything, including mascara and eyelash glue.

I use it by scooping a heaped teaspoonful out with a teaspoon, I melt it between my hands in a washing-my-hands motion (which helps moisturise the back of my hands), and then rub on a dry face. I then take a flannel, fold it in half, fold it in half again, and I run that under the hot tap. I wring it (and by then it's warm but not hot because pretty much all the water is gone) and run it on my face to remove the coconut oil. By the time you've used a couple of the sections, your skin is clean and soft. Not oily though, in fact I then moisturise.

It's so gentle that even if I use something for sensitive skin now, I can feel my face tingling. It's cheap and so effective.

Anyone else here who also removes make up with coconut oil?

No I never use coconut oil on my face or body as I break out.

I use paraffin / baby oil to take makeup off. Then I double cleanse with cerave foaming wash.

I use it as a cleanser and make up remover with cotton wool pads. And as a body moisturiser.

I use the coconut oil from the local Asian food shop. Never had any problems with that. When I travel, I melt it on a radiator, pour some in a small jar, then freeze that before packing it. That way there is no risk of it leaking.

Absolutely. I bought a kilo for £2.50 yesterday. I use it everywhere. To make it luxurious, I melt it — just stick the tub in a sink of warm water — and then add a few drops of rose geranium oil: gorgeous Smile
