Clarins from eBay

Does anyone have any experience ordering Clarins face cream from eBay? Are any of them legit or are they good fakes? I ordered some face cream, not cheap, but not retail price and I am now rather suspicious. All looks legit and sealed but the texture doesn’t seem quite right and the top doesn’t screw on smoothly, or am I being paranoid?!

I order the sample sachets that are given out free. I find them useful for travelling and have had no issues with buying from eBay in bulk.
I can't comment on full sized products.

I have always ordered mask up and skin products from eBay. Make sure you buy from Power Sellers.

Have you checked All Beauty? They sell discounted Clarins and are totally legit.

lindyloo57 · 28/01/2020 18:41

I have just received from ebay a laura mercier mineral foundation, at half the the price it is in shops, I have one from john lewis and must say it looks exactly the same, the wording is the same on the box and the container, she is selling other colours, I just wonder where she gets it a such a low price.

FVFrog · 28/01/2020 20:28

Thanks for the input, I will check out Allbeauty, thanks @Lamentations and also look for Power Sellers!

Be careful on eBay I bought liz Earle and it wasn’t the right stuff had a bad reaction. I don’t know where they get the products so cheaply 😒so be wary. Better to use a website as mentioned.

I sell beauty products on eBay. I get them as part of a gift with purchase, beauty boxes or advent calendars. I only sell genuine products. I am not a power seller because I don't want to pay to have a "professional" account. I use eBay to sell the items I won't use to reduce the price of the items I actually want. Check a seller's feedback. If they have five stars and lots of positive feedback for beauty products you should be safe. eBay will refund you if you receive a fake.

lindyloo57 · 30/01/2020 16:09

Me too I sell some make up I no longer use, you can sell it lightly used, I just make sure I put it in the description that it's used, I once had a listing took down by ebay, it said someone had reported me as selling a fake item, it was a eye liner new from cliqnue. The thing is it came in a gift set from debenhams, so if it was fake it came from there, I did go into debenhams to complain, but they didn't want to know.

I sell beauty products on ebay, the GWP products. There is quite a market in it. Clarins products are usually sealed so one of the better ones .

Ffsseriously · 30/01/2020 22:31

So where do sellers who are selling quantity of say clarins, so not unwanted gifts etc. Get the products so cheap?

JJPC · 30/01/2020 22:32

I nearly got banned from eBay for selling clarins samples. They apparently don’t like it

ilovebrie8 · 30/01/2020 22:33

That’s what I would like to know Confused

ilovebrie8 · 30/01/2020 22:34

Where they get the cheap products

Howzaboutye · 30/01/2020 22:37

They steal them from shops
I thought that was pretty obvious

cozycat1 · 31/01/2020 08:35

You can actually buy legit branded items from some high street discount shops such as TJ Hughes and TK Maxx and then sell on. I do the sometimes. Eg. I ve just bought some ByTerry lipstick for £4,, Jurlique face mask for £4 and Givenchy lipgloss for £2.50 in the TK Mxx final clearance sale. Also recently they had loads of Laura Mercier and NArs stuff and This Works night cream, not so cheap but at least half rrp. TJ Hughes had masses of Clinique face cream at one point too.

ilovebrie8 · 31/01/2020 08:35

I thought that lol!!Hmm

Tableclothing · 31/01/2020 08:39

I wouldn't.

lindyloo57 · 31/01/2020 08:48

Tableclothing, that worries me, I don't think I will buy anymore make up from ebay.

ilovebrie8 · 31/01/2020 16:33

That is what I said I had a bad reaction to Liz Earle from ebay I don't trust the products..better to be safe and buy from a reputable online website/business

FlossieJEM · 05/02/2020 13:40

I used to work for Clarins, as staff you are entitled to order products as part of your allocation, staff can also then buy additional items at a reduced cost. Staff are not supposed to sell these for profit as they receive them for free to try / test / promote. However, some people certainly sell them. I imagine there are also fakes out there. How would you know which is legitimate though?

Meetmeinfantasyland · 05/02/2020 13:47

I used to work for a spa using Elemis, Jessica, st Tropez. I could buy all products half of the retail price. I presume it's a similar situation but would still be wary of fakes if the prices are really cheap.

Plainandsimple · 05/02/2020 21:47

Laura Mercier have recently changed their packaging, which might be why there's suddenly a large volume of stuff available on Ebay. I've just bought the Hydrating Primer from Ebay at half price, I'd say it's legit, just in the now-old packaging.
