GHD Glide v Straighteners

I was going to get a pair of GHD straighteners soon, just the standard ones, however I’m looking at this GHD Glide brush thing, it looks like it works quite well. I have just below shoulder length, thickish hair, it’s a bit bushy/slightly kinky when blow dried, so that’s why I like to run the straighteners through it, although I’m not too bothered about it looking ‘poker straight’.

Does the Glide work as well as the straighteners? Is it less damaging as the straighteners? Also dd will be using it, she straightens the life out of her very thick long hair, she likes her haircut very straight! would it be suitable for her hair?

And lastly, if the Glide is better than straighteners , is GHD the better ones to get rather than say a cheaper brand? Thanks in advance.

I've had mine for years, ghd are definitely the best. Don't go for the cheaper ones. Not only will they not do the job but they will also snag your hair.
As you and your daughter are one of the lucky ones with thick hair. Go for the wider gods not the thin ones. These are made for people with luscious locks. Cant comment on the glide as my hair is not thick enough lol

I have both - GHD straighteners from years back and last year I bought the GHD Glide - I have bra strap length fine hair but lots of it - I do use both and love both - the glide I use a lot recently after drying my hair in the morning to just run through and "smooth it" so my hair looks more polished/finished.

Sorry that it's a bit unhelpful to your query hopefully someone with thicker hair will. E along soon .

I have quite thick frizzy hair and love the glide. I’ve only had a couple of months but I can wash and air dry hair if I’m at home for the day and then use it to tidy hair up and smooth. Also fab day or two (or three...) after I’ve blow dried hair to keep looking tidy.

I have straighteners but haven’t used for years as I don’t really like my hair when poker straight.

I have the glide and normal GHDs I love them both.
I have very thick hair. With the glide I still partition my hair and just run through it, but it takes 5 mins whereas with the straighteners it takes about 30 mins.

Thanks for the replies. I may just go for the straighteners, dd likes her hair super straight and they are cheaper.
