Best concealer for very fair skin (used in combination with L’Oréal B.B. cream light)

Hi! I use L’Oréal B.B. cream (light) which provides nice coverage for all of my face except the chin/mouth area, where I have some dark marks (hyperpigmentation) due to an acne outbreak. They remain visible even with B.B. cream. I don’t want to use a foundation as I don’t like the look and feel of it on the rest of m face (which needs no coverage) and was thinking about applying some concealer to my problem areas underneath the B.B. cream.

I’ve never used concealer before though, do you need to colour match carefully in the same way as you do for foundation? If I’m trying cover dark marks, do I need a lighter or darker concealer? What brands can you recommend for my skin type (fair, generally good, hyperpigmentation on chin)? Thanks so much in advance!

For under eyes you want a shade lighter, for spots and dark marks the same shade as foundation
Makeup revolution do a great one called conceal and hydrate in a good shade range

You need the same shade. Lighter will highlight the blemishes. Concealer is usually thicker than foundation though OP, it's the same thing but with extra coverage.

As an aside I have 'BB creams' that give more coverage that foundations I own. It's just marketing really most of the time.

Collection lasting perfection is good and comes in very fair shades, or Nars creamy concealer if you have a higher budget. I don't a tiny bit on and blend out with my finger. Too much and it looks cakey. If your skin is on the dry side perhaps try a cream concealer in a pot.

My DD is very pale and uses a very light foundation by CYO and concealer by collection lasting perfection. Concealer should always be lighter. Apply with a small brush, by dotting it on carefully.

Lisa Eldrige has a great video for this technique this

The rosacea video is good too this

Lighter only for under eyes! Lighter highlights, you don't want to highlight spots, you need to conceal them
Otherwise you have your foundation and then lighter patches where you've hidden blemishes

Glossier stretch concealer is what you’re looking for. It’s amazing!

I would buy 2 shades of concealer and that way you can mix them up to create the right shade as your skin will change colour over the seasons. You'll need the right brushes to help blend it all in to your skin for the seamless look.
