I am in my 30s, with no formal qualifications, apart from AS level English language and English Literature E grade. No w I am desperate to start things. I have decided to do GCSE English, science, and psychology. I am interested in psychology and also want to continue in for A/Ls. Can someone please guide me. Will it be useless to do my GCSEs or should I just do A/Ls and take it from there.

OP, I think you may have posted this in the wrong place (you can ask MNHQ to move it). do you have any GCSEs at all? I would look at taking your level 2 and 3 functional skills qualifications in English and maths (free through learn direct.) you can also take ICT which is a useful skill to have. each course takes 45 learning hours to complete but they are valued by employers and are easier to learn on your own. they count as GCSE, and you can complete the GCSE psychology course at the same time (I think it will be less pressure to do the functional skills with one GCSE rather than all 3 as GCSEs). if you wish to after you have completed the GCSE, you can move on to A-level psychology. all the best x

Yes wrong section, but as you asked - you can study Psychology with the Open University if you wish, there are no entry requirements Smile
It might be a better fit for you, and you can usually get student loan funding.

Getting functional skills or GCSE in maths might still be worth a go. Just thought I'd throw that distance learning option out there as well.
Best of luck.
