How to feel comfortable around wealthy / stylish?

This is not just style and beauty but wasn't sure where to put it!

Due to my DP, in the last few years I have found myself in the company of some exceptionally wealthy, confident, well dressed and intelligent people. As lovely as they are, it's given me quite the confidence crisis. As well as being generally very well travelled / educated they all always look amazing - super groomed and all seem to know the exact thing to wear for each occasion.

I'm trying to be myself and generally increase my confidence. But does any one have any tips for feeling more groomed and I guess, expensive? I don't want to be something I'm not, but I'd love that easy confidence that comes with looking sleek and groomed!

@peeweehelp

I had this issue when I got promoted into a senior role but still dressed like I was at uni.

I had a two hour personal styling session at John Lewis that I timed for the summer sales and picked up a new capsule wardrobe which is elegant, timeless but still really fits my personality (I love wearing colour and clothes with a vintage-y edge). Also, because I timed it for the sales, I got some absolute bargains!

I now try and shop only twice a year with this personal styling service. Once in the summer sale and once in the winter sales and am gradually building up a wardrobe I love!

Shirt, jeans and cashmere sweaters you mean?
As far as the conversations are concerned, Borneo must be fascinating, Brighton has the pier to pier race, have you ever tried it?

Steer clear of polyester and prints and patterns, anything very tight and plasticy.
Natural fabrics, colours that suit you, either statement jewellery or simple pearls.
Good leather bag and shoes.
