What high street foundations do you recommend?

I’ve ran out of foundation ( no7) and would like to try a new brand. I like full coverage, have combination skin but nothing too drying. What does anyone recommend? Not wanting to spend too much, as in nothing over £20. Just something I could pick up in boots/Superdrug. So yeah what’s a good foundation ?

The Ordinary. Only £5.90 and really nice imo.

Another vote for Rimmel Lasting Radiance. My absolute favourite and I've tried tons.

Hydraluminous gives a good medium coverage.
Similar to L'oreal Pro glo. Both give a skin like finish, cover my redness, but do not leave me tight, dry looking or cling to any dry patches.
I set both with powder and still look fresh as the day goes on.

I so want to try maybelline urban dream cover and the radiant finish foundation as well.
Both have good reviews and the colour match for me is good.
Another favourite is maybelline superstay stick foundation. This covers redness like a dream, blends beautifully and you only need to apply it where you need too.

Primark does last all day but is a bit drying so use a nice moisturizer if it is too dry for you. I think it is the colour I most like in the Primark one. I also have the hydraluminous one but colour is not as good.

I must be the only person alive who hates the hydroluminous one,it aged be about 10 years and looked really odd on my face.

Colourstay is good.

I adore Healthy Mix by Bourjois, but now Bourjois is bring discontinued in the UK (sadly) I'm not sure what I will try!

Littlebb2020 · 19/01/2020 22:58

Thankyou for all your replies, I actually went into boots and had a try of a few different ones of the L’Oréal and found the infallible to be the best, my skin looked flawless.
Definitely going to try the no7 hydraluminous x

It's a little hard to get a hold of nowadays but Bourjois Healthy Mix is incredible, especially if you have oily, olive skin like me. I always used to use Nars Sheer Glow and it's very similar.

professionalnomad · 20/01/2020 07:20

Another shout out to No 7 Hydraluminous.
Bloody lovely stuff!

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 20/01/2020 07:25

If you have olive skin, then the Superdrug foundation for olive skin is great, I tried it the other day and it's a great for, colourwise.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 20/01/2020 07:26

NARS sheer glow and Healthy mix serum are very very very similar. I once did half face with each and it was indistinguishable.

goldpendant · 20/01/2020 07:31

Healthy Mix is great, similar to a Dior one I used to use. Shame it's being discontinued??

I've switched recently to Benefit Hello Happy which is £27 but worth it I think, great coverage and smoothing effect. Not drying, not too dewy. For me it's the in-betweener I was looking for price-wise!

I bought L'Oréal true match after people raving about it on here, I find a damp sponge works best for me, I squeeze it out on a tissue then use it. It's glowy and the shades are f good. I actually ended up buying 2 as I got a bit obsessed with finding the best colour (no testers on my side of the world) I bough gold ivory and natural ivory. Both are nice. I'd say its a satin finish and a lot better than Rimmel wake me up which I found a bit drying. I'm now on the look out for a nice concealer if anyone can help.
