My foundation looks fine in the house but appalling in daylight

Am 58. Am using Max Factor Radiant Lift Looks nice when applied but, not good at all, in daylight. Shows my fluffy blonde downy hair, pores, lines. I’d say I look better without but just look tired, in reality.

Any recommendations? Have also tried CLARINS Extra Firming which again, looked fine in John Lewis and like slutch after a morning at work.

I’d appreciate some recommendations because I do need something.

What’s your indoor lighting like? It might be worth having a brighter/cool toned light if your current lighting is warm/yellow as it mimics daylight better. For example you could try something like this (the rose gold one is cheaper on offer) or just a cool toned lightbulb for your ceiling light. Lighting makes such a difference. I have a Hollywood style mirror.

Otherwise a beauty blender will make a difference to the texture of your foundation. I don’t find that it sucks up a significant amount of foundation.

Also look into skincare products to improve the look of your pores, and good moisturiser and primer for a smoother finish - you can get line filling products that can refine the appearance of lines etc.

Also it seems like the longevity of your foundation might be a problem so a setting powder or compact that you can use on the go might help

I dermaplane/shave my fine peach fuzz, use a primer - hourglass is brilliant - and then apply IT cosmetics CC cream. It goes on beautifully, does not oxidise and stays put with the primer. Getting rid of my peach fuzz makes a huge difference and it does not grow back stubbly.
I use the Phillips Lumea face attachment for my ‘tache.

Waxed the fuzz last night and have rooted out my Lauder Pirimer. We will see ... can’t find the beauty blender so, will buy a Real Techniques one today 😊
