I think maybe not as it's usually more an autumn/winter colour but I love this dress

It's a lovely dress but definitely autumnal, sadly. Sad

annualleavepurchase · 15/01/2020 18:11

I thought so :( they do it in a blush or pale blue too but obviously full price Grin

Why ever not? People worry far too much about this sort of thing. If it suits you and you feel good in it, wear it! I've got linen shift dresses that are definitely summer wear in navy and black. Not everyone suits pastels.

annualleavepurchase · 15/01/2020 18:15

I have similar colouring to the model and think I'd wear a blush pink hatinator, shoes, bag with it.

I do already have a pale blue lace dress so maybe I should reuse that instead.

Agree, if it suits your colouring, then wear it. I adore burgundy!

ispyachocolatepie · 15/01/2020 18:15

I don't see why not - I had people head to toe in black at my July wedding on a VERY hot day! You could always lighten it up with a lighter coloured belt / shoes - maybe nude?

IM0GEN · 15/01/2020 18:16

Are you the bride or the groom ? If not, it will be fine.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/01/2020 18:17

It's lovely.

Aprilcherry04 · 15/01/2020 18:17

I think as long as u wear blush/nude/gold accessories it would be fine. Especially a scrappy sandal rather than a court shoe

annualleavepurchase · 15/01/2020 18:18

@IM0GEN sorry, is asking about style to trivial for the style and beauty section Grin

Oh yes, gold strappy sandals are a good shout!

Minky35 · 15/01/2020 18:34

It’s a nice dress, But definitely autumnal. However it can still be quite cold in spring, so maybe a ‘winter’ dress could be a good choice?

IM0GEN · 15/01/2020 18:35

@annualleavepurchase

You must have me confused with another poster - I didn’t say anything about triviality.

CountFosco · 15/01/2020 19:31

It's pretty and agree with PPs you shouldn't worry about wearing autumnal colours in spring. If it's a British wedding it could easily cold and wet.

But really, if you have a blue lace dress that you still like then wear it. Don't feel like you have to buy a new dress if you don't need to.

Sorry, I must have misread the tone of your post CakeBrew

I don't see a problem with the colour at all.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/01/2020 19:45

It's very nice, I think it looks better in the wine than the pale blue. (Especially if anyone is likely to tip a glass of red on you at the reception - pale colours with no pattern can be risky.Grin)

annualleavepurchase · 15/01/2020 19:47

@ErrolTheDragon I agree that the dress itself looks better in the burgundy. Maybe I should just buy it and keep it for any events / parties in autumn / winter

Kenworthington · 15/01/2020 19:48

I don’t know anyone in RL who overthinks this wedding guest outfit stuff. Just wear what you like and if it suits you then even better! Just don’t wear an actual wedding dress!

EnidButton · 15/01/2020 19:48

Of course you can. I love that colour.

Rosere · 15/01/2020 20:05

Yes!!! You could wear that any time of the year. It is beautiful. I agree with PPs, gold or nude accessories. Or blush pink as you said yourself. Love this dress!!

MoltonSilver · 15/01/2020 21:11

I think its a bit dark for Spring. Obviously you can wear it but I think you could find something better.

SpeckledyHen · 15/01/2020 21:27

Of course you can wear it - as long as it is a colour that suits you .

RaisinsRuinEverything · 15/01/2020 21:30

It’s fine! It’s better to wear a colour that suits you rather than wear pastels just because it’s the ‘done thing’.
