Philip Kingsley elasticizer - anyone kept it in over night?

I'm trying this product for the first time. I search MN for threads but they are all several years old.

I've just put it on and the bottle says it can't be left on too long, can't be over absorbed, so I'm wondering about keeping in on overnight - I don't have a turban, any tips for a substitute?

Or has anyone had a bad reaction to leaving it on overnight and would recommend I don't do this?

It's only meant to be on for 20 mins on damp hair then washed out with shampoo after. I guess if your hair is very dry and damaged you could try it overnight. It won't harm it in any way.

I have some and it says to leave it in overnight if your hair Could do with it-I tends to gently plait my hair and change my pillow case the next day!

Ive left it on all day and night (tied in bun) no issues with it, infact advice on qvc was to keep on as lo g as possible, thats from pk rep

I've put in on dry hair and slept in it, just put a towel on my pillow.

Ok, next time I will ut my hair in a bun and just put on an old pillow case! I had it on for 3 hours. I could really feel a difference but I haven't seen a difference, can't explain it. I use aveda dry remedy shampoo and conditioner and wondered if this would be to much moisture but it's fine.

I do my hair twice a week, a brief blow dry, my hair is dry so this takes less than 3 min, barely use a brush, and a brief go on the curling tongs on lowest heat setting and count to 8 quickly and release. My hair is very full and fluffy and I find doing it at night at night gives it time to calm down a bit. I hope I can see I difference in the morning!

Oh, I always leave it on overnight! Never had an issue, I love the stuff. Hair in pony tail, dampen pony tail, add Elasticizer, then either twist into a bun or do a long side plait, then go to sleep. I have one of the scented ones and it's gorgeous.

I always leave it on a couple of hours and often overnight. It’s good stuff.

Inherdefence · 15/01/2020 21:41

PS. I wear a disposable shower cap whenever I use it which can be a bit noisy at night but it’s worth it.

palomapear · 15/01/2020 21:42

What exactly is it supposed to do? My hair is baby fine. It doesn't do anything!

Girlintheframe · 16/01/2020 06:21

Doesn't do anything for my hair either unfortunately. I always leave hair masks on overnight. Just pop into a bun and wash out in the morning

dudsville · 16/01/2020 07:01

My hair is so shiny! It's hard to tell anything else re texture because I had to rush, it still did its realistic portrayal of shrub when I brushed it but will be curious to have a look after it relaxes from that ordeal!

Best hair treatment I've ever used for my dry/frizzy hair! I buy it by the litre when on special offer at lookfantastic. Make sure you rub it in on wet hair and cover with a shower cap. I leave it on the 30 minutes minimum but can be left on overnight.
