Masectomy swimwear

I’ve had a masectomy and I’m really struggling to find nice bikinis. I’m going on holiday next month and though I have a nice masectomy swimming costume I’d really like to get some flattering, non-frumpy bikinis. Due to general stress and illness I’m down to the slimmest I’ve been since I was a teenager and I really want to look nice. There’s some lovely ones made by a company called Anita but they don’t have an online shop and the places they are stocked seem to start at size 14. Has anyone found any nice bikinis like this in a size 10? Ideally looking for a crop top or high neck top and then quite high leg bottoms. It doesn’t have to be a specific masectomy top and I can put prosthesis in normal crop top type ones.

Nicola Jane or Amoena have a good selection.

Asda go lovely ones, not sure if this time of the year though. I have the most wonderful tankini from them that has lasted years.

Tesco and Sainsbury's had some last summer but not tried them.

Just checked and they have 16 post surgery swimsuits.

Online, Asda have some lovely post surgery bikinis like this and vvv reasonable prices too so you can have a few

Thank you so much - I hadn’t thought to check Asda. Do you think tops like this would make it more obvious that I’m boobless? I can’t decide if if looks an odd shape or if I’m just overthinking it.

I really like that one - if you know that its a mastectomy one then you look at the infill panel, but I like that its still the halterneck style and it will show off your trim middle really well

I like that one. Also, if you've had radiotherapy, it should help cover and protect that area from the sun (it would for me anyway).

TimeToChangeNameAgain · 13/01/2020 21:06

I hadn’t really considered the protecting from the sun aspect, that was silly of me. All I’m thinking about is that I’m finally slim and hairless and I want as many people as humanely possible to know.

Or humanly, whatever

I know that feeling @Timetochangenameagain which is why I thought that one was a great choice.

I still go out in the sun, but do try and cover where I had the rads (and factor 50 of course!)

I’ve had a lovely one in the past from
About the girl.co.uk - a seafolly one with mastectomy cups, the company stopped trading for a while but I think they’re back and selling mastectomy swimwear again. Amoena often have nice looking bikinis, and I also second ( third?!) Asda - I have had tankinis in the past and currently have a one piece from them. It fits better than any other, more expensive, costumes I’ve tried and holds a prosthetic securely. I hope you find something you feel fab in and have a great holiday.
