Anyone successfully got rid of ice pick scars. I had acne 15 years ago but the tiny dents are still there :(

They are incredibly difficult to fully treat. I had severe acne which left me with horrible scarring across my cheeks and chin. I’ve spent a fortune over the years on peels, microdermabrasion and a host of other treatments.

I saw a dermatologist finally who recommended Fraxel laser. There are 2 forms, 1 gives 3-4 days of downtime and the other is way more hardcore, effectively removing all the skin. I opted for the former and had 6 sessions. It was painful and took about a week on each instance for my face to recover fully. It made a big difference to my scars. They weren’t fully gone but probably about 50% improved - which my Derm told me to expect.

Since then I’ve done microneedling and found that excellent. My skin is the best it’s been in 20 years. If I was starting all over again, I’d go straight to microneedling. You definitely need a deeper treatment. Stay away from at home devices or beauty clinics as the needles are not deep enough to get into the pits. I found a clinic run by nurses/docs and they are using 2.5mm needles on me.

I think (and I’m no expert) a lot depends on your age and ability to produce new collagen and heal. I’m almost 50 so dealing with laxity and other issues. I think if I was younger the microneedling would have been even more effective.

Good luck with it, I fully understand how upsetting it is.

My colleague had laser, similar to PP. Its expensive but made a massive difference to her skin. She’s around 30 and the scars are probably 90% gone.

Thank you. I’m early 30s so hopefully can do something about them. There’s a clinic near me where a derm does dermapen. Quite pricy. Hopefully only need a couple days f sessions!

Good luck, there’s definitely treatments out there that help!

I’ve found mine are fading with age (I’m 35). I’d like to do something to get rid of them permanently though, I fully empathise!
