Mine has gone a bit mad (very dry). Can anyone recommend a good shampoo and conditioner? I have blonde highlights.

Im the same, I havent found anything to combat the dry/frizziness as yet, but my hair is also thinning and I have found Nioxin shampoo and conditioner makes it feel like it has more oomph. I'd be really interested to hear suggestions on combatting the frizz...

LizzieVereker · 10/01/2020 19:34

Plantur 39 conditioner every wash, and elasticiser once a week has been amazing for my hair, which was similar to yours.

dottydaily · 10/01/2020 22:54

12 week blow dry stops frizzy hair and I get 6-8 months frizz free hair..

PolaDeVeboise · 11/01/2020 09:33

Thanks all, shall try Plantur 39 (can't really afford the blow dry). However, pray tell, what's an 'elacticiser'?

Paul Mitchell Elasticiser. You can get it from a lot of places (I tend to wait until M&S have 20% off beauty)

It's gorgeous stuff. Apply either overnight or at least half an hour in damp hair before washing as normal. Cue soft, silky hair (well softer and silkier than my normal mop!)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/01/2020 09:53

Elastizer is brilliant - it's Philip Kingsley and I also wait until M&S have 20% off. A big pot lasts for ages.

Plantar 39 has helped me so much. I'm not shedding anywhere near as much.

I now need to find a defrizzing product!

ImTheCaddy · 11/01/2020 09:55

Do you mean the Philip Kingsley elasticizer? I've been looking for the one you mention but I can't see that one!

I desperately need something like this!

ImTheCaddy · 11/01/2020 09:57

Ah snap. Thanks

kirkandpetal · 11/01/2020 10:07

Sorry - got my Philadelphia muddled up!!

kirkandpetal · 11/01/2020 10:07

Phils I meant! Argh!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/01/2020 10:24

If you want PK Elasticiser look on QVC - they've got 1 litre/500ml/150ml/ 3x150ml
Different scents (original/coconut/raspberry and lychee /pomegranate)

Shampoo/conditioner

P&p is hefty with QVC but at the moment it's £1.95 on beauty

And a 30 Day Guarentee Money Back

ipswichwitch · 11/01/2020 10:34

Look fantastic have it on offer at the minute too - it’s gone straight in my basket as I’ve been desperate for something to sort out my hair too

Moknicker · 11/01/2020 16:28

Hair oil works for me. Heat up a little bit and put it on just the frizzy parts for about 20 minutes. Wash and condition as normal and then blowdry.

whataboutbob · 11/01/2020 18:25

This is probably going to sound drastic, but about 3-4 years ago I went “ no poo” ie I wash with silicone free conditioner. Prior to that my hair had all the charm of a Brillo pad. Now it looks much better, and actually quite attractive especially in the days after I wash. Due to work/ laziness I wash once a week. Should do it more often.

JingleCatJingle · 11/01/2020 18:33

You could try some castor oil (mixed with argan oil) as opposed to the pricey elasticiser.

MoltonSilver · 11/01/2020 23:13

Philip Kingsley elasticizer is the business.

CointreauVersial · 12/01/2020 09:09

Another recommendation for hair oil - it has transformed my dry, strawlike, slightly greying hair.

Lots of brands to choose from - the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil (available everywhere) is pretty good, although I use double the recommended dose. Or most hairdressers do posher ones, like MorrocanOil. Apply a few drops to wet hair, rubbing through the ends (keep away from roots), and you'll have swishy locks again!

CointreauVersial · 12/01/2020 09:10

(you don't wash these ones out)

LizziesTwin · 12/01/2020 09:11

I’ve stopped dyeing mine & the texture is much better.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/01/2020 09:23

I've got the L'Oreal oil but just can't make it work for me. It does either nothing at all, or makes my hair lank. I've tried and tried with it but with no success.

MaudesMum · 12/01/2020 13:09

As well as an occasional use of the elasticiser I've switched to an argan oil shampoo and conditioner which I got from Holland & Barrett, which I use every other shampoo or so - definitely helping!
