Can you recommend me a high street foundation?

Or CC cream?

I've been using Armani Luminous silk and Chanel CC cream for several years now, but I feel like I'm constantly dishing out huge amounts of money on product that doesn't last/ I could probably get better in Boots!

Can anyone recommend me anything? I need something slightly Dewey and I'm usually the fairest or second from fairest colour with yellow undertones.

I used double wear for years & have recently used maybeline for me & it's just as good! I use two shades x

I wear luminous silk and tried Hydraluminous and can definitely recommend it. I bought it as an alternative as I was skint and it was fab so think I will stick to it going forward as GA is super spendy!!

Another vote for Hydroluminous from Boots. They have cool vanilla which sounds like it may be the right tone for you.

It's not "high street" as such but Estée Lauder Double Wear lasts me a good 4 months as I only need one pump for my whole face with a damp beauty blender, amazing coverage and dewy finish.

Ps I get mine from boots x

So much love for hydraluminous. I don't find the finish or coverage great for counterbalance, it has a slight odd sheeny finish to it and doesn't stay put long as it's quite 'slippy. I've been using it up mixed in with something else to give it a bit more slip so it blends better so like it in that respect but alone- not crazy about it.

The primark dupe for dpublewear is genuinely good (glass bottle) and I really like the boots CYO lifeproof foundation, both go pale enough for me which is about as pale as it gets. True match is also nice, though it used to be better.

Primark foundation is really very good value. Best of the high street I've found. I also didn't rate the Boots hydraluminous and/but Giorgio Armani LS is awful on me. Like really really bad. Thank god I got a sample first.

Honestly, I've used them all! Gone from ELDW (ecru) to NARS sheer glow (mont blanc) Armani Luminous silk (02? Off top of my head) to Boots No7 hyrdraluminous!! It's absolutely gorgeous! In recent years my oily skin has appeared to have calmed and this stuff is perfect. Not a huge fan of the concealer though, bit meh!

Not fond of Charlotte Tilbury, Fenty or Chanel for foundations. Chanel vitalimiere in the lightest shade went so orange on me it was unwearable! Illamasqua was slightly cakey. NARS is still a firm favourite, and I still like ELDW- light, but the original has changed so much I won't repurchase after years of faithful use.

I like Max Factor facefinity compact. So quick and easy to use like a powder but good coverage and no streaky lines.
I just wish they'd do a refill as I've been using it for 20 years now and at approx one a month I dread to think of all the plastic and mirrors I've disposed of!!

LightOfAThousandStars · 09/02/2020 12:21

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, very similar to Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua but the colours are more yellow toned so work better with my warm skintone.

KondoKonvert · 09/02/2020 12:28

I like a fairly natural look and have been really impressed with Boots No.7 triple serum foundation. I'm nearly 40 and was looking for something that wouldn't settle into the cracks!

GuyFawkesDay · 09/02/2020 12:34

I prefer the Boots protect and perfect all in one foundation.

Find the coverage lasts better and is more even for me.
