Waterpik flosser, any good?

I'm debating getting one as I never floss. Reviews say the cordless doesn't hold it's charge. Cord ones look bulky. Any thoughts?

I bought a cordless one recently. I'm very happy with it. Haven't had a problem with it holding it's charge.

I had a cordless waterpik I didn't find it very powerful, the plug in version was much better and easier to use.

I have the Waterpik nano and it's very good. On my second one as the flosser cord eventually wore away on the first after about 4 years of use

We have a corded one. I have crowded teeth & struggle flossing (I can use tape, but it still gets stuck, a waterpik is easier). Thankfully I have great teeth. DH's teeth are appalling & he has receding gums, he gets a regular cleaning after each 6-monthly checkup. The flosser doesn't remove plaque (according to him) but slows its buildup. It's also good for removing odd bits of food from deep pockets etc that are less accessible for a toothbrush or floss.

I have a cordless Philips Airfloss (though contrary to its name it uses water or mouthwash not air) which is cordless, very powerful and effective, and keeps its charge for ages.

Coded one here. Fantastic

Toomboom · 04/01/2020 06:53

Only ever had the cordless and not had any problems. I don't find that it loses charge too quickly.
I love my Waterpik water flosser, it has been very effective for me.

AuntieMarys · 04/01/2020 07:01

Philip's Airfloss works for me.

howsoonisnow85 · 04/01/2020 07:03

Ive never managed to use mine without getting water everywhere! Whats the secret?!

Gertrudesgarden · 04/01/2020 11:08

Phillips Airflosser here too, used with mouthwash. It holds its charge for ages, but I'm the only one who uses it.

Eesha · 04/01/2020 15:33

My teeth are a bit crowded hence was asking. Waterpik seems to have the market but Phillips sounds good too. Ideally I need something cordless but will hold charge

I have the Phillips one too. I have a large gap between two teeth and it deals with trapped food well.

Ninkanink · 04/01/2020 15:43

Phillips one is very good and very effective. Is water like the one sold by ALDI or LIDL which sprays water constantly? I couldn’t get on with that one and didn’t find it very effective.

Gertrudesgarden · 04/01/2020 22:18

The Philip's one just shoots a jet when you press the button, so you can position it, close your lips and blast away. My teeth are crowded too (thanks to wisdom teeth pushing them all out of line) and flossing is difficult, so the airflosser is brill. One thing my dentist said was to use it before brushing so you don't rinse your toothpaste residue and all the fluoride away immediately. I've not needed a scale and polish for the three years since I got the airflosser...less time in a dentist chair for me makes me happy!

CointreauVersial · 04/01/2020 23:26

I just bought a Phillips Airfloss, as it was on offer at my dentist, and it seems to be pretty good. Quite powerful jets, although I'm still perfecting the technique and regularly spray it all over the mirror.
