Im using elemis pro collagen marine cream it was a present but I think it's giving me spots. Which moisturisers have made a visible difference to your skin?

Vitamin c serum with hyaluronic ? acid - morning and night, no other moisturiser. Brilliant stuff, non greasy, calms down redness, fades sun spots. There are various similar brands on amazon.

Serums are so much better and more effective than any moisturiser. So vitamin c serums or a retinol one.

Moisturisers just sit on top of your skin. I just use a serum then spf and don’t bother with a moisturiser (many dermatologists recommend this)

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense is absolutely amazing. If I dare to use anything else on my face it properly kicks off and my make up looks awful.

Standinguptononsense · 01/01/2020 14:05

Disappointed to read this as that was on my list to get !!

Some really good and interesting replies. Standing up to nonsense it may work for you. It just didn't work for me unfortunately. It works for my mum though.

Nivea and diprobase eczema cream have cleared up my rosacea and extremely dry skin.

Amortentia · 01/01/2020 17:30

I’ve got seriously dry skin and am prone to congestion after years of smothering on a variety of moisturisers. I’d echo other posters and say that the only thing that has improved my skin is other products and steps such as double cleansing , use exfoliating toners and then a serum. If I do this I can put on the ordinary moisturiser that is super cheap and works just as well as any expensive one.

I'm a recent convert to No 7 Protect and Perfect. Have only been using it for about 3 weeks (it was/is on offer in Boots so bought two sets) and although I'm not sure I can notice much myself, about 3 people have commented on my skin in the last couple of weeks. That never happens to me. I'm using the toner, advanced serum, moisturiser, eye and lip creams. I think it just really suits my skin.

I've used Elemis for years and love it, but the biggest difference to my suddenly dry menopausal skin was Eucerin.

Always use sunscreen too.

Bananaman123 · 01/01/2020 18:11

My skin doesnt like elemis or liz earle, breaks me out. I love neutrogena watergel, hydrating and not greasy. Also glow recipe moisturiser at night with the sleep mask, skin looks great in morning

I have sensitive skin which is dry and tends to develop redness
I swear by Aveeno dry and sensitive cream Cheap and simple ingredients

Sunday Riley Tidal.

It’s heinously expensive but by god it’s worth every penny.

I used to strongly believe that it wasn’t worth spending lots on moisturiser and that eg serum was the thing to splash £££ on.

I literally can’t quite believe how good Tidal is.

My skin was good before but I still used to use base makeup products for some glow and to even put skin tone. In the year since I started using Tidal I have prob only put on a dab of makeup twice, and that was for a couple of evenings our. My skin just doesn’t need it any more. Looks terrific without; it glows and is even toned. (Can’t do much about the freckles!!!)

I’m 43 so this level of glow is no mean feat, plus many many products break me out into appalling cystic acne, particularly creams.

This and the Emma Hardie balm cleanser I use are my two big splurges. I spend next to nothing on makeup each month (maybe £10 on an eyeliner or lipstick every 2-3 months is IT) and skincare is my obsession. No other skincare product has ever come close to transforming my skin the way this moisturiser (and the balm cleanser) have.

Macandcheeseplease · 01/01/2020 20:35

I use the M&S Absolute Formula moisturiser and sleep cream, it is amazing. Hands down the best skin care product I've used, it makes my skin look great.

No idea why I hadn't done it before but good old lansinoh nipple cream has sorted out slightly dry skin around my eyes and even seems to have plumed out fine lines!

I'm loving it for winter use at night, using along side cerave night (day and night) and beauty pie night retinol. But the lansinoh made a difference in two nights.

I hadn't realised it's in e45 either.

NeurotrashWarrior · 01/01/2020 21:31

Aveeno works a treat too, the blue one, over night.

Lottiebugz22 · 01/01/2020 21:38

Wow lansinoh really? I just gave my sister in law my tube as she's just had a baby otherwise I would of definitely tried that!

REN evercalm day cream - soo soothing, really does what it says, so when my skin is feeling irritable it's lovely. I'm not sure what ages it's aimed at, I'm in my 50s, but it's right for me and I would have loved it in my 30s too. I also loved the Filorga sample I got in an advent calendar, but it's far to costly to actually buy :(

Nightime I use Nuxe Merveillance night, just melts into the skin without at greasy layer.

jamdhanihash · 02/01/2020 12:06

Eucerin 5% day cream
